Creative Courage.

Unpossible NL is a small volunteer-run arts organization based in St. John’s, Canada with a significant impact on the cultural scene. We exist to coordinate educational and non-competitive projects which foster creative courage, and which encourage community, equity and diversity.

We run the RPM Challenge, the Stand-Up Challenge, Podcast Jam, and Open Bookshelves. We also work with partner organizations to run Math Circles of St. John’s and Band Off.

The Executive Director is Elling Lien (Executive Director of the Nickel Independent Film Festival). The present board of directors of Unpossible NL includes Amanda Bulman (chef, writer and comedian), Don-E Coady (owner of DC Design House), Kelly Mansell (owner of Rocket Bakery), Morgan Murray (Writer and Innovation Officer at Cape Breton University), and Sarah Smellie (Canadian Press Journalist).

The all-inclusiveness of Unpossible’s value system is something I can’t stop thinking about… In St. John’s, if you have a dream of recording your own album or doing stand up, Unpossible is making it real.
