There are a zillion reasons. Maybe you've always wanted to write and record your own music, but you haven't taken the time to do it. Maybe you’re a musician and you want to try something new, or reconnect with the fun of it. The RPM Challenge gives you an excuse to push yourself and get stuff done. Here are a few key reasons:

It’s not a contest.
There’s enough competition in the world. We just want you to be you, and make something you want to make. Go ahead, set out to intentionally make something terrible! Record yourself snoring!

The deadline will motivate you.
Having a deadline makes it easier to overcome creative blocks, stop overthinking, and get your ideas flowing. The RPM Challenge provides just enough structure and motivation you need to get started.

You’ll learn new stuff.
With a goal to create and record a certain amount of music within a specific timeframe, it’ll inevitably push you to try new things, learn a new instrument or software, experiment with different musical styles, and just generally improve your skills.

You won’t be alone.
The RPM Challenge is a worldwide event, with a great online community hub on Discord which is a great place to connect with other musicians and to share your work with a wider audience. We try to make a positive, inviting space for people to share their work and experiences.

It’ll help you make music a habit.
The RPM Challenge can be a great way to connect (or reconnect) with the fun and enjoyment of making music. Taking part can help you make making music a part of your life, and build the momentum and motivation to continue with it even after the challenge is over.

It’ll feel good.
The sense of accomplishment that comes from starting a project and seeing it through to the end is very satisfying and can boost your confidence and motivation. And if you keep an open mind and don’t set your expectations too high, you can do it.

Why should I take the RPM Challenge?
