It's an epic adventure! Rob Leach laid down this great backing with tons of twists and turns. I threw everything I had at it. The transitions were a little rough -- I think Rob was making up the rhythm guitar part as he went along. Now, since life's transitions are never smooth, why should songs have perfect transitions in them? In fact I think I am going to be the standard bearer for ragged transitions (LOL!).
It really is more of a few vignettes put together than a single "song". Anyway, it's done (for now).
Come join me on this musical adventure ... Right Now!
Rob Leach: All Guitars, bass, composition. Kevin: vocals, harmonica, keyboards (bright piano, church organ, trumpet, alto sax), SPD-20 Percussion (#31 Congas/bongos; #11 Acoustic Kit), lyrics
Sometimes things happen And you don’t even know why Some days you can set the world on fire And other days you just don’t want to try
Oh, Like now……
It’s a story with no ending It just seems to drag on and on And you’re left with the feeling That it could be one big con (heh, doesn’t it sometimes just feel like that)
Like right now……
So how in the world did you get here? It seems like one big mystery You can try and think and think As if your will could change history (Don’t sometimes you wish that you could just turn back those hands of time?)
Like now……, like right now………
And the rain came down Without hardly making a sound And I thought how beautiful this must seem To those who still who hold onto their dream
But then the sun peaked through And I thought of you With your yellow dress And your warm caress
I could sure use that Right now……, right now………
But it was just a momentary respite All this damage has left me not right And I look for a noble way out Like a knight who’s lost one too many a joust
Like now……
But somehow I made it this far I guess I’ll go take my fool’s stool at the bar With a dram glass in my hand I’ll make my glorious last stand
Right now …, I said Right now …
