So It Goes....
Thursday, 31 July 2008

I put up Oz Squard on to CD baby after February, 'as is', so to speak.  It's been there some four months now.  It's on digital distribution, Itunes, napster, etc. some 14 sites in all.  I've sold a big fat zero.  I did it mainly because  I thought Alan (my 15 year old son who played electric on the album) would think it was cool that something he played was on Itunes, which he does.  So, for that it was worth it.  But it certainly is a kick in the ol ego that not a single track has sold.  Pretty sad.

But, I still like what Alan and I did.  I've listened to the tracks several times since and of course there are things I would like to change but overall I still like it.  Even if I did sing all the songs, I did OK, I'm happy with what we did.

Plus I think it has spurred my son on to learn more.  He plays electric guitar just about every night and is learing things off of youtube.  I heard him playing 'Back In Black' last night and his almost got the riff down cold.  Faboulus stuff!!

RPM hasn't made me a millionare, but the things it has given me are priceless.

1 Why not put it out free?

I'm listening to the songs in your profile player as I type this, and you deserve to have an audience - I really like Can You Hear Me Lord - and giving people free downloads will (hopefully) give you that.

It's a shame it didn't sell, but it's great to see you're seeing the positives. We're here for love, not money.

Thanks Colin. Can You Hear Me Lord is one of my personal favorites. I thought Alan played really well on it. I love his solo on the end of it (proud Papa!).
I was hoping for a bit of change though to go for his college fund! :-)

I think I'll post them on alonetone, I like their format.
