Savage cd of cover versions in shock delay
Sunday, 04 May 2008

Guitar playing has suddenly hit a level, and I guess that's okay, but it does make me think that it's not as easy as I originally (and rather cockily) thought!  Also, I have ditched my wondefully forgiving baby mic and have started using the industrial-size-warts-and-all beast-with-pop-filter and everythang.  I am not liking the results.  My voice sounds colder, thinner, much less cuddly.

So...my cover versions may be a while in the making...maybe I'll ask for permission to submit them as my RPM '09 project!  Actually, that's not a bad idea!

The songs I have so far:

No Reply - Colin Garvey

Watch it go - Night Driving

Town on the Edge - Kevin Emmrich

Breaking and Entering - Volksmetall

Now - Angie Fights Crime

Nobody Home - Kai Starr

Blacksmith's Wife - IronAngel Forge

Folk Punk Baby - Fence Flatley

Why do you come see me now - Osborne and Hutchison

Oh, and Bukkianna-meyu - Michelangelo...

Mail me if you have something for me to add to this list (or if I have missed any), or if you'd like me to quit messing with your song!

 1 You have my permission!
Written by IronAngel Forge, on 05-04-2008 05:29
You definitly have my permission to use any of my RPM 08 stuff for your 09 disk. I wonder if that actually counts? Or would you do it as a second disk to send in?

Thanks! I'm sure it would be within the rules - so long as my recordings are only done in February. :-)

The only reason I wondered is does it fit into the RPM challenge of being "orginal" material... perhaps a thread on the forums to see what others think on this idea? Personally, I think its really cool, and hope to see (well...hear) several albums of RPM covers in the near future.

Ah...yes, that would be a slight hitch in my master plan then. Hmmm, looks like I'm doing a personal January challenge!

Didn't you get my email? Gah! Sorry! I'm loving it - you're my personal hero! Annoyingly, the vocal range is giving me the most difficulty!!!

Haha! Bless you!! (I'm waiting for Fence Flatley to cover one of mine and I feel the same!) I'm actually ready to record yours now as it's the one I started working on first - just need to do it (have small kids so it's not as easy as it sounds).

I think it's probably best that you expect the absolute worst.
