Yes you!
Instead of sitting here pinning away, waiting for some dude from NPR to come by and discover you, get up off your butt and market yourself!
A press release would be a good way to start.
If you are on Soundclick, they have a partnership with myprgenie.com, where if you issue a press release and send it to MyPRGenie, it WILL get published there, and if you pay them a nominal fee, they can get it elsewhere.
Until the end of April, PRGenie has a half-off deal for Soundclick users to get their PR going onto one or more press contact lists. I spent two hours crafting a release one night, and even though I still don't think it's the best ever done, I'd say the result are well worth it. Not only was the piece placed in MyPRGEnie's PR Repository:

But it also got picked up for distribution elsewhere:

I've already gotten several requests for CD copies from journalists and college radio stations (because, even in this day and age, people will ask for this sort of thing, even though a full download is available), and an offer to link to my page from a rather popular German music gear site (provided they ultimately like what they hear; which I really hope they do). So, I'm pretty psyched on what may possibly come!
Now, the reality check:
1. All this PR activity has caused my personal site to exceed it's monthly activity quota. GRRRRRR!!!
2. I got a Certified letter from the DMV over something I thought was taken care of a LONG TIME AGO!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!
3. I need new front tires....GRRRRRRRRR!!!!
Those discs from Discmakers can't come soon enough... Views: 427
