After many security checks, boatloads of jet lag (is that a mixed metaphor?) and lots of looks out a small window wondering if that ocean will ever have a coastline, I am home.
Had a good time in Germany, as always, but I am happy to be back in familiar surroundings. That said, it was good to be completely out of touch with everything for a bit.
Read the boards this evening for a bit, see that Mick is martyring himself again this year. Good on yer, Mick. Your place in rock and roll heaven is assured. I nominated Hussalonia all over the place (ok, 2 places) since he is such a monster talent, not to mention a chameleon.
Thinking about writing a short album about summer, but a very pyschedelic one...I feel like doing something hopelessly derivative for some reason. Traveling to Europe always makes me philosophical and nostalgic (I lived in England in my early years). That nostaligia and some 'deep thoughts' I had while in the German countryside seems to have struck a chord (pun intended) within me that I may have to do something about. Don't ask me why that translates into a psychedelic album about summer, that's for the record to answer. I am thinking maybe 4-5 songs at most. If I do make this, and you want a copy, let me know.
