So, I've been battling with the loss of my muse since the end of February. Nothing was working, nothing seemed to fit together. But this weekend I decided to take part in the RPM covers thread and did a version of the Angie Fights Crime song Escape, both because he put it up for covering and because its an awesome song. (Check out the cover in my profile - Honeycomb - and don't forget to stop by the jukebox to hear the original)
Anyway, since working on that track my muse seems to have returned. I've now got 4 musical ideas sketched out in Garageband and two partial lyrics, the titles of which are "Swimming In The Street" - about global warming - and "Wishlist Of The Unwilling" - about what are affectionately known in the UK as chavs (I believe the closest US equivalent phrase would be White Trash).
The aim is to get out another long player (14 songs) before next years RPM challenge hits. Obviously I'll have more time to spend on the album so hopefully there'll be no filler and better production. It's good to get back into the groove after RPM 08, which completely drained me musically...
