Just a Little Juice

Saturday morning have always been conducive to my muse for some reason.  I think I've written or started more songs on Saturday morning than any other day.  I was playing around with the Bm chord and came up with a nice progression with it and then some words starting coming with a melody and then I came up with the chord progression for the chorus.  So 20 minutes or so of work and I've got a decent song going.  I've got the three verses written.  No words for the chorus yet, I think this one will have to simmer a bit for those words.  One verse goes

"I know that you love me

I know that you care

Oh, but Darlin,  don't try to change me'

This is How I am'

Nothing real deep, but I like it.

Tho I frequently has Sunday mornings for that. My muse, however, will sometimes choose the most inconvenient times to come to life. Like during a presentation. Or while falling asleep. Or in the midst of my work day. I probably get to write down less than half of the ideas I get.
What about anyone else?

In the car, going to work in the mornings, I compose whole symphonies in my head. Sometimes they're so crystal clear, detailed and beautiful tears well up and obscure my vision. I wish I was living in the future and had access to a mind-music recorder that I could just plug into my ear. As it is, I sing to my cell phone, which has some sound recording facility. (I used to call my own answering machine to record melodies that the muse had whispered to me.)

Wow...that is exactly what I was going to say! I compose in my car a lot and have been known to park up suddenly to warble an idea or two in to my cell.

I also wake up in the morning with a song in my head some times, but it's usually drifted away by the time I've grabbed my phone.

Wow, my muse is feeling very inadequate right now! Whole symphonies while driving! I'm happy if I get a song title or some verses or perhaps a chord progression. I've woke up with some songs in my head but not very many. You two should watch Autumn Rush, very cool music movie.

OK, I don't necessarily get whole symphonies...more like a verse or two. And they're always catchier when I'm in my car and far more diappointing when I hear them later on my cell.
