Tonite I'm doing my monthly neighborhood gig at the Borders Books just around the corner, with of course my new album "Westward" featured prominently on the merch table! I'll be playing 2-3 songs from the new album, so we'll test it in the court of public opinion! Yeah, bestaluck...

It was a great gig, altho my playing has suffered 'cos I haven't been practicing much, having been recording an album the past month!

I "gave away" a few copies of 'Westward" to some of my regulars, which transmitted to good tips...

I saw an old musician friend I had not seen in years. He had already downloaded the album and gave me his review!

A old friend/fan of mine GAVE me a National Resophonic guitar of his, because his health is failing, and he can't play anymore, due to arthritis. I was speechless. it's a really beautiful guitar. I am still in shock.

Needless to say a very emotional evening.

Wow! That sounds like a nice scene you have going there.

I've played a couple of 'friends in the front bar' sessions and it is a buzz to get the new songs into the air.

Yes I have to give credit to Borders Books and Music for supporting local musicians, at least here and in FW. The Borders on Hulen even bought five copies of my first album ("Texas Tonefreak") to sell in their local music section. Unusual for a corporate brick and mortar music store.
