Howdy y'all...well, there's good news an' there's frightenin' news. The good news is that with more'n 4 days left to record the album, we got everythin' done except...
- Our track with our guest artist, Delia Jo
- Cleanin' up some sound files
- Burnin' a CD an' sendin' it off
The frightenin' news is I done got a voicemail in from Delia Jo as
we was preparin' to lay down the master of "I Won't Tell You"...through
the miracle o' modern technology, the Mountain Weirdo VOIP system done
recorded the call word fer word an' effortlessly put it into text
format to be shared with y'all... How the Polecat. This is
the lee a Joe. As you can tell bah ma votes, ma left sawn us is a
might stuck up. No in that all only have a few daze left fur our P.M.
challenge, a want it to... Uh...I jest noticed the VOIP
voice-to-text feature hain't used to takin' dictation from folk of our
country pedigree, nor from a Northern-born gal with a stuffy nose, so I
done listened to the message myself and edited it fer yer clearer
understandin'...
Howdy, Polecat. This is Delia Jo. As you can tell by my
voice, my left sinus is a might stuffed up. Knowing that y'all only
have a few days left for RPM Challenge, I wanted to let y'all know in
advance that you might have to do another song in place of our
collaboration if I hain't well enough for our recording session
tomorrow night. My singing voice hain't quite right and if I'm gettin'
sick it's only going to get worse. I'm terribly sorry for any
inconvenience. I'll talk to you soon. I purt near had a
heart attack. We cain't come up with another song just like that, so I
asked our producer for suggestions. She called Delia Jo and they done
had a talk. I overheard our producer gigglin' with Delia Jo so things
cain't be too bad...she done suggested Delia Jo come on over tonight
if'n she's up to it, use a Neti pot to flush out 'er sinuses, an' see
if she cain't get through her song before the stuffiness gets too bad.
I asked our producer what in tarnation a Neti pot is; she says
it's one o' them thar things the folks in the Far East done since time
immemorial that only now is becomin' better known in the West. You
take this here thing...looks kinda like a tiny waterin' can to me...put
it in one side o' yer nose, and it pours salt water in until it comes
out the other side. She showed me...she's been doin' it fer years,
'parently...looks a might funny, but if it works fer her an' Delia Jo,
I'm all for it. Oh! Delia Jo's at the studio door right now -
Beau's lettin' 'er in. I'm a-gonna go an' greet 'er. Hopefully we can
make enough progress tonight that we can have Delia Jo's lovely voice
on our album before any germs have an opportunity to derail us at the
