crashh
Sunday, 24 February 2008

so i think i've 'crashed' on two different levels.  I took off work thursday to finish the album, song #8, stayed up till 3 am, and then by the next morning was sick to my stomach.  that was my physical crash, in which i slept 24 hours almost straight(except 10 min snack breaks every 8 hours or so).  We had done alot of work, but that's crazy.  Now, tonight, even though i should be working on the album art, i think my emotional crash is happening.  This album has been pretty much my entire existence (outside of work) and so now it feels like its over (still have mixing/mastering) but the creative part is done.  I suppose its normal, just makes me wonder, is anybody else going through the same thing?

Our album (might as well mention it, since i'm obsessing about it)

Blank Canvass

1. Legend

2. Rags to Riches

3. Syncronicity

5. Firecracker

6. Doctor P

Oddly enough I had quite a few similar experiences. i took Thursday and Friday off of work as well to do the challenge. I did it to start/complete tracks 8-10. My car also broke down this month and cost a nice 1.5k to fix it. And I can gladly say I too finished the creative process tonight and only have to do the mixing and mastering (which I assume will be a daunting process).

I don\'t think I really had a hard crash, but I can say wed night I think i slept 3 hours due to worrying, and started recording at 5:30am until midnight.

Anyways congrats on finishing up! Sure was hell wasen\'t it? A nice rewarding hell in the end however.

i got the flu on friday and basically spent 5 or 6 days straight holed up in my room, sleeping, feeling like shit, and trying to get work done on the record.

now im feeling a bit better and am battling the fact that i havent really done a thing for this entire month besides work on this thing, and, as its the first time ive ever tried to record, im not nearly satisfied with it. its frustrating, but im moving forward, and am going to have my first damn cd.

...as soon as my voice comes back, so i can hopefully re-track vocals. a race against time.
