I haven't been nearly as active on this site this years as I was last year, and you can chalk that up to my work situation. Last year I had long stretches of time that I had nothing to do, so I was able to keep up with RPM and add my comments regularly. This year I am a temp hoping to get hired on permanently, and this is the first time this week I've had any down time, so I wanted to chime in.
I have been diligently working on songs since the first, and I must say I'm pleased with what I have so far. Because of my home situation, I almost never have time where the house is quiet enough for me to record vocals. I have recorded the melodies to the songs on an alternate instrument, or used a loop to do that, and I'll have to save the actual vocal recording until the right moment. Usually I can get that done on the weekends, so I'll have to compress my work into a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. I hope my voice holds out.
I am eagerly awaiting the sample engine to be put up. I discovered a lot of songs by people I did not know, and traded CD's with many of them, and gained a lot of good music in the process. I'm looking forward to discovering new music by all of you, and perhaps trading some CD's along the way.
Good luck to anyone participating. I hope you get finished on time, and, above all, I hope you enjoy yourselves making music this month. I know I do.
