Dropout
Wednesday, 30 January 2008

Oh well, my singer (and girlfriend - thanks for the support) has decided that she doesn't want to join me in the RPM challenge and I can kind of see her reasons. She's quite the perfectionist and reckons that she won't feel comfortable singing sub-standard lyrics or singing over sub-standard music (which it probably will be given the time constraints).

So, it's just me on my lonesome. The last time I attempted singing was when I was around 16-17, about *cough*20*cough* years ago, and I wasn't very good at it back then, so this should be interesting, especially after 20 years of a 10-15 a day fag habit.

I've also changed the name of my "band" to Honeycomb just for the challenge. Hopefully it signifies how everything is going to mesh together by the end of February, either that or I'm going to get stung...

I don't know you or anything about your music, but it's inspiring to hear that you are trying very hard. Singing isn't difficult. I mean, Bob Dylan is rich.

Because she bailed I am now curious about how your CD will come out and will be sure to check it out later. She just doesn't get it. No one is going to be perfect in a 29 day, 10 new song window. Good luck.

Nothing like those non-supportive girlfriends for endless creative fodder. They never want to help YOU when you need it, but are always quick to guilt-trip you into helping them when they want it. Women. Can't live with em –– can't kill 'em.

I don\'t know. A lot of the older recordings were done in one or two takes and we consider a lot of them to be classics. The recording studio causes us to pursue some ephemeral goal of \'perfection\' but really it is about sounding good.

I read all these posts about how its only a month and the music won\'t be that good. But if you believe it\'s so it will be.

Good on you for continuing with it.
