RPM Challenge Encourages Music for Music's Sake
While some sites offer cash prizes to indie bands willing to upload their music, the organizers of the RPM Challenge
ask entrants to "record an album in 29 days, just because you can," and
upload it to the site just to share it, as opposed to trying to win
prizes, get signed, and/or get famous.
Currently in its third year, the RPM Challenge has grown steadily,
with over 850 new albums recorded for the site last February. All of
those recordings are currently available in an online jukebox. read more
