New favorites
Friday, 02 March 2007

I just went through the sample engine, both demos and clips, and read through the discussion boards and listened to a number of artists, and I'm beginning to create a new list of favorite artists.  I downloaded the albums made available by the Substars and Brian Litchfield and Greg G.  I listened to posts by others and suggested trading CDs.  Three have responded with addresses, which is great.  And I listened to the Beatnik Turtle "radio" section of their website, and laughed my *ss of at the song about the beer cans.  Been there and done that.  Gotta scrape together about ten clams and get that album.

But this is exactly what I expected to happen.  I am hearing people who are making music for the love of the music and nothing else.  THAT is what's missing from the radio blather of today.  None of the pseudoartists who get their songs on the radio care that much about the music.  They just want the bucks.  I write and sing and post songs because I love the music.  I don't hear that in the corporate-dominated music world any more.  Hey, Sony Records and your bretheren, are you listening?  Put the FUN back in music!  You can start RIGHT HERE!!!!

Love all of you who worked your butt off to meet the challenge, and I'd love to hear more.  Somebody send me a message or a reply and tell me where I can listen to more.

Thanks a bunch!

ER

i am humbled by your interest in my recordings! i\'d be interested to hear your impressions upon listening...and i\'d also be happy to swap CDs. I checked out your Sample Engine songs and am always up for solid singer-songwritery fare.

There sure is a lot of music coming down the pipe, huh? I\'ll have to find a way to play MP3s at 45 RPM or I\'ll never dig out from this musical backlog!
