To everyone who's adding blog entries saying they're done and at the post office or just back from the post office and making funny comments about the snail speed of their local postal service, let me give you all a collective "congrats" at getting it all done. From all the blogs I've read, some have had a relatively easy time of it (like me) and others have gone through hell. To those who have had their troubles, I wish I had your determination. Sometimes I give up too easily.
I agree with most of the entries in that, my album isn't perfect, but it's the best I could do at the time. I don't hate the album, like some, and I wish I knew more about mixing and mastering, like others. But, in the end, I think everyone will be pleased with the music, and will be pleasantly surprised by the positive reaction of everyone to their own music.
One thing this has done for me is to re-ignite my muse. I find myself with ideas for songs springing up regularly. Read an article in the local paper today about a guy who makes a living with his songwriting. I wish I did. Then I wouldn't have to really work for a living. Songwriting is fun to me, and I have a large number of finished songs that I'd love to introduce to "real" musicians some time. Not all the songs are very good, and not all of them have universal appeal, but I think I've got some good stuff among the files. Okay, no more pipe dreams. Back to work. More e-mails to answer and problems to solve and bills to pay.
Much respect to those who have finished and submitted their albums, and, like many others, I'm looking forward to hearing them once all the stuff is put together and made available to the general public.
Regards.
