OK, folks, you can now be either happy for me or be green with envy, but my CD is "in the can", the artwork is done, and the CD&jewelcase is in the mailer ready to go to the post office. I know, I know, many blog postings have been about how many days are left and how many songs are left to be done, but I'm a quick study, and a quick worker. What can I say? Most of my vocals are done on the first take, including harmonies. I just know what I want, and I'm able to do it. No idea how.
It's called "Old Fashioned Love Affair", 10 songs, about 40 minutes of music, and I'm not at all sure anyone in their right mind will like it at all. But I've been writing music since I was about 19, and this CD is the most brave I've been with my music. I have been posting songs to a free website, and people give me polite reviews, but now I feel I'm a little bit more among professionals, or at least people more serious, and more talented, than I am, and I'm a little wary.
But, as I said in a previous blog entry, if I don't have the courage to try, I will never get anyone to care beyond my family about any of my music. So I decided to take the plunge. Wish me luck.
So, if, when this contest is over, you hear a song on this site with a title like "Motorbike Mike" or "Don't I Know You", or some ditty mentioning Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire, you know it's me giving it my all.
To those who are not yet done, I hope you finish in time, and I respect you for giving it your all, and I wish you luck to complete the challenge on time.
Peace for us all.
