The RPM Challenge for 2007 will launch at the beginning of February. In the doldrums of winter last year, 220 bands signed up for this artistic challenge and 165 successfully completed albums were submitted, all written and recorded within 28 days. At the end of it, a citywide, 5-venue listening party rocked Portsmouth with genres spanning electronica, indie, roots, jazz, noise, experimental, rock, and everything in between. Projects ranged from the conceptual to the straightforward, creatively fulfilling the requirements. All of the tracks are still being shared on the website. read more
