I have something to share with all of you, and it's medical, and will probably gross you out. I'm scheduled for the lovely procedure called a colonoscopy tomorrow, and today is my "prep" day. For all of you who have been through this, and know someone who has, you know what's in store for yours, truly. For those of you who don't, this is a procedure where the put a scope into your intestines (NOT down your throat or by incision, but by entering the only place left) to see if there are problems with the walls of your large intestines. In order for the procedure to work, and for them to diagnose anything, you can't have anything in your intestines. So today, I get to take a series of 4 Dulcolax tables, then drink a solution at the rate of an 8 ounce glass every 15 minutes, and get royally cleaned out! I expect to be in the rest room continuously starting before 5 p.m. If I don't answer any e-mails or voice mails, please be understanding.
And, NO, I won't be writing a song about this.
No need to pray for me or wish me well. I'm sure I'll get through this just fine. My family is here, and there giving me a lot of moral support and cracking wise at every opportunity. I write this so that you can hear the immortal words in the song "You Wear It Well" by Rod Stewart.
Think of me and try not to laugh.
