A former beauty queen walked into my office the other day....

Me: "I like your dress."

She: "Really?"

Me: "Yes; that's a nice dress."

She: "Thank you! Did you work in the fashion industry?"

Me: "No."

She: "Oh, you must have! Why else would you say that?"

Me: "I'm a transvestite."

She: " ... "

Me: "I was thinking I would like to wear something like that."

She: " ... "

Me: " ... "

She: "You had the operation?"

Me: "No. I'm not a transexual - just a transvestite."

She: " ... "

Me: " ... "

She: "Like....a crossdresser?"

Me: "Yes. I believe that's the preferred nomenclature in America; in Europe they prefer transvestite."

She: "Oh, so you're European?" [as if that explained everything]

Me: "Uh-huh."

She: "But you're a man?"

Me: "Yes."

She: "No operation?"

Me: "No operation. I like to wear women's clothes."

She: "But you like women?"

Me: "Heck yeah!"

She: "Well.....that is interesting. And you know, it's good for me to open myself to new experiences."

Me: "It certainly is."

She: "That's very important."

Me: "Uh-huh."

She: "So....is it a sexual thing?"

Me: "I feel more comfortable in a frock and tights."

She: "But you're straight?"

Me: "Oh yes!"

She: " ... "
