I spent the last two days mixing and remixing. I'm frankly so sick of this project that even the prospect of creating a cover for it kinda irks me right now.
So what I ended up doing was doing a PDF of my cover art and lyric sheets and burned it into a copy of my CD. At the very least it's environmentally friendly. I've also burned non-data versions of the CD, for those who can't deal with PDFs on their CDs.
All of which should tell you that I'm DONE, DONE DONE!!! The only thing that really bothered me about my experience was that I didn't allow myself a wider sample pallette with my sequencer. I could have exploded some of my soundfonts and pull a sample file into my Griff software, rather than use the software stock on hand. Or maybe use my Zoom H4 to tape some birds singing, or something.
But, well, I had to keep it real. And simple. Especially toward the end of the month.
I've gotten enough positive feedback on the music that I think I'll try a little experiment (well, an expensive one, but still). I've started an account on Discmakers to possibly do a 100 CD run. When the money comes in on Friday, I'll be able to purchase some CDs (I may even have artwork by then, who knows) to provide to CD Baby, these two local radio stations that set aside time in their day to play music by local musicians, all my friends, sell on the website, and all that good stuff.
Sure, it's not the stuff that Top 40's made of, but surely one has heard and done worse, no?
