So I am sort of where I should have been last week (I've had a bad second week of february due to flu) I've got enough tunes, most of it recorded but no vocals and lyrics at all. Still it's just a mild panic I'm feeling now. I could still finish this. Last year I wrote and recorded three lyrics on the last day.
One happy discovery this year was that it's actually quite doable to record electric guitar AND bass through my little 15 Watt Vox Pathfinder-amp at relatively neighbourfriendly volumes. I haven't used any ampsims for RPM this year at all and I think the guitars sound much better this way.
I set out to use more guitar this year but listening back now I worry that the result might come out as too much Classic Rock with a big beard. I hope I have some time left to screw it all up with some synths and creative editing. Also, there are some tunes which I fear will come out as too similar.
Anyway, tomorrow I should start on those lyrics. I already decided that the album is going to be called Underachievers Anonymous (Someone else probably has used that phrase before but at the moment it seems fitting for some other ideas I have now for lyrics)
