I just churned out the vocals for a track called Grime, influenced by a Simpsons episode. The lyrics are surprisingly dark for something Simpson-based. It sounds like Katatonia [at their most melodic] meets Celtic vocals [with maybe a little bit of a TSO vibe here and there].

It sounds like a folk guitar belongs in the background - which I may try my hand at if I have time.

Anyways, my goal is to work on new songs until the 15th. This weekend, I'm going to take inventory on what I have, and keep writing if I'm nowhere close to the 35 minutes. If I'm within 10 minutes of it, I'm going to change gears and really focus on fleshing out expanding those songs I already made that can justifiably be expanded.

(I'm really not too worried about having enough material at this point - in a worst-case scenario, I have a few guitar instrumentals that can be thrown in. They're interesting, being very percussive. I was using my guitar more as a drum than a guitar. I think they need to be seriously edited down, though.)

Sorry that I haven't posted any demos yet - you'll probably begin to hear them in the second half of the month. I can't write a single song, finish it, and move on to the next. It's kind of like planting seeds. You plant them all at once, and water them simultaneously, and they gradually grow.
