The RPM Challenge

I was working on a track, and Jeskola Buzz crashed on me.

After spewing out profanities loud enough for the Chinese to hear me, I redid the work. The revised version sounds good, but it heads in a different direction than the original version.

That's the kicker with electronic music - it's very hard to repeat anything that gets erased.

Suffice to say, I threatened to chuck my computer out the front window if it ever does this to me again. (I hope the pedestrians below are wearing protective headgear.)

moral of the story is always save and save multiple versions of the file.

FLS crashed and corrupted my first song after I finished it. Luckily someone was clever enough to replace the trashed header and remove the bad data... but LESSON LEARNED.

Seems like during RPM some disaster has to befall everyone... part of the challenge is to get past it.

The problem is Jeskola Buzz is SO prone to crashing [depending on what generators and effects you have open], that you'd have to continuously save it in order to prevent any data loss.

(I didn't completely lose the file - I just lost about a half hour worth of changes I made.)

An auto-save mode would be awesome for Jeskola Buzz, but since it's relic-ware now, we probably won't see any new updates for it.

I don't use that software, but I've lost songs and ideas and work to cranky computers and dead hard drives.
Protective headgear or not, LOOK OUT BELOW!
