Help wanted: Instrument players, please let me sample your instruments
(Tuesday, 29 January 2008) Written by Red strike

With my project Red Strike I intend to achieve a largely organic sound on a breakbeat-driven electronic music record.

For this I need some good (royalty-free) source material to sample. These samples will in almost all cases be rearranged and possibly resampled or otherwise disassembled, so you might not recognize yourself.

I would very much like some samples of any kind of strings, horns, drums and keys. Vocalists are very welcome too. Come to think of it... I could use all the help I can get in this area.

Anything from a few seconds up to about half a minute of you jamming will probably do, but if you feel like rocking out a bit don't hold back on my acocunt!

I'm sure other electronic music artists are having this issue too. Should we perhaps create a 'sample pool'?

If you are down with the idea and want to contribute then please post a megaupload link with a rar of your wavs in the comments below.

Last year there was a setup for just this sort of thing... if an artist wanted to provide samples to the community, they could upload stuff to the Sample Engine.

I definitely intend on posting up process audio for just this purpose, so sit tight and in a few days, you'll probably have plenty to work with ;)
