I just read an article in my local paper about the label Hear Music, which is the same one Mick is working with to get RPM music into the hands of Starbucks customers. The article said Joni Mitchell is going to release a new album soon through that label, which should generate some interest. It also said Paul McCartney has released an album through them, and might again.
Having read that, I'd like to give a big round of applause for Mick, who is doing us all mondo favors by getting our music into Starbucks. When he first mentioned it on a blog entry, I was kind of skeptical about what kind of exposure we might get, but after reading that article, I think Mick has done us all a great service.
Great job, Mick! With the recording industry in flux (meaning, of course, chaos), this is probably the best way for any new artist to go.
