It's been interesting
(Saturday, 24 February 2007) Written by Endicott Road

Reading the blog entries has been interesting, entertaining, and instructional.  I get a tiny window into the processes many artists take to create an album for this challenge, and how crazy their lives can get, and how much better equipment they have then I do.  And I also get a sense of how many people have procrastinated, and are rushing to finish.

I'm not surprised that creative people have crazy lives.  I am creative, but with a family and a job that keeps me more stable than most.  But, if I didn't have this structure in my life, I might have just as bonkers a time as what I've read on these blogs.  Don't know if I'd do the all-nighters that some describe.  I'd probably fall asleep at the switch, and record six or seven hours of nothing.  It's probably good that I don't do that.

Let me say I am LUCKY to have completed the CD so quickly, and in no way do I discount anyone else's music, or their efforts, or the way they create their music.  I am not gloating in the least.  The final yardstick is the quality of the music, and I feel my music is the best quality I could produce.  I also feel that there is a great deal of quality music being posted on the demos and samples, and, I'm sure, on the CD's being submitted.  I can't wait to hear some of the final entries when they are available.

It's Saturday morning, and I'm waiting for the temperature to rise a little bit before I go out and investigate why my car is making an ungodly noise.  I think it 's the brakes, but I'll have to pull the wheels to find out.  I get pretty dirty working on a car, so I'll make sure I shower before I do anything else.  In the mean time, I'll post an MP3 of one of the songs on the CD for your listening pleasure.  Let me know what you think, good or bad, but please be constructive in your comments. Leave me a message on this site.  I'll be back later to check.  Understand that the production values might not be too good because I have the lowest end of equipment.

Thanks to those who have read these ramblings, and, to those who are finalizing their CD's, good luck!  May your music be great and your equipment not break down.  And your blood pressure stay within normal perameters!

Regards.
