Yes, I feel some more creativity coming on...
Indeed, I've already started making steps towards another album. Today
I tracked 5 songs' drum parts and almost finished one entirely. Also, I
am now using (figured out how to use) FRUITYLOOPS so my drum parts will
not sound as bad, but they will still be electronic and I will have
full control over them (I used to just plug a keyboard through my amp
to make it crunchy, though not always, then into my hardware, then just
set the tempo and ... (1370 more chars)

I went to Newark, Delaware to play a show for my friends, to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, and to go to my friend Nur's wedding. My first real show went ok, it was really difficult to hear the backing tracks out of the sound system and the other bands did not seem interested in hearing me, but at least my friends stayed the whole time. I played for about 50 minutes, but at the end I thought I wasn't that good. I don't know, I think I might just be better cut out for recording music for n... (316 more chars)
My friend Ashley played a chunk of my album on WCDB radio 90.9 in Albany today! It was awesome but I had to do research while most of it was being played.
I'm finally done, except for the actual physicality of printing out the cover, writing the tracklist on it, burning the cd, printing out lyrics sheets and sending them in the mail. You can listen to and download the entire thing (along with my other songs) at my reverbnation page: http://www.reverbnation.com/underscore1134 RAD!

Ok, I am now in love with the Wall In Me song. I hated it when I shoveled it out but now I can't stop listening. I think I've broke new stylisting ground, too. It's very CRASS but with utterly apathetic and schitso. I love it. These are the lyrics: This Wall Within Me aka Hitting the RPM Wall Credit: Mick (Michaelangelo) I've come to the wall Of the wailing ghosts Where passage ahead From pillar to post Hits hardest in me To where it hurts most I stand at the end Of the trip I ... Shit. My good Studio mic broke while I was trying to record the super-fast spoken lyrics to "The Wall within me" and the vocals sound crappy. But so does the rest of the song. Oh well. I wonder if I can take it apart and fix it. Oh, and you know how I said it would take me an hour, well, it took me about an hour and 20 and the song is 2 minutes long instead of 1:30 and it's 500% unlistenable instead of 100% but I'm still proud of it. ; P

So far the weakest instrument I had at my disposal was my bass, a sucky squier "precision" (not) bass with terrible action, buzzing, and bad intonation. That has changed. However, it is far too late to re-do most of my bass parts. I'll probably get around to re-doing about 3 or 4 of the worst offenders but other than that, my entire cd is mastered and ready. I did the car stereo test and was really surprised how off my initial guess on levels were. Only about 2 or 3 songs were "perfect," but ... (216 more chars)
Hmm.. I spoke too soon. Seems every time I listen to a song I spot something else that needs to be fixed, re-recorded, hand-edited, etc. I'm done recording all the base music, now I just have to perfect, and only about 3 out of my 13 songs are what I would really consider complete, even a week after I thought I 'finished' the challenge. I mean, I could say I' m done right now, but I wouldn't be satisfied. To match, this weekend is going to be my last solid block of time to work on it because ... (246 more chars)
... with what is technically required for entance. I have other tracks that I may include, just need to practice for a show on the 1st of March and get schoolwork.research done (I'm a grad student). The drums on J.J.Ratter were recorded by J.J.Ratter (Penny Rimbaud) of CRASS in the late seventies, I don't care if that's against the rules becuause I am an anarchist and I destroy everything. Also, to be complete, I believe the drum tracks on "Serpentine" and "Energy Weapon..." were also TECHN... (142 more chars)
Yep, that's right. 8 songs. Done. That includes a short intermission-type song that took me like 5 minutes to record that sounds like a person being maimed in a garbage compactor. Last night I wrote a soundalike SY Confusion Is Sex-Era song about the lowest of the low. I need to record the vocals for that and then mix one song's guitar parts, record a solo-guitar instrumental, and possibly one more entire song if I have time. Ever since I heard about this I've been going full-steam. It's not... (78 more chars)
