Shine your shoes and head for the Crucible
(Saturday, 29 March 2008) Written by Domestic Science
I can't get the hang of this interweb thing; no matter how hard I try, I can't figger out how to get tracks from the library into a playlist.  Is it possible that I'm even more stupid than I thought? I'll just have some ice cream instead.

Yesterday the piano tuner called to reschedule his appointment; he couldn't make it yesterday because he had a flat tire. Today I realised that what I should have said was "I guess that's one flat that a piano tuner can't fix" . Yeah....I'm real quick that way.

A former beauty queen walked into my office the other day.... Me: "I like your dress." She: "Really?" Me: "Yes; that's a nice dress." She: "Thank you!  Did you work in the fashion industry?" Me: "No." She: "Oh, you must have!  Why else would you say that?" Me: "I'm a transvestite." She: " ... " Me: "I was thinking I would like to wear something like that." She: " ... " Me: " ... Can we all just pretend that I have *always* been known as Domestic Science ? Just ignore that whole Fifteen Puzzle thing, 'k? And, seriously, is it too late to change the name of my album to Death By Disco Ball?

(Monday, 25 February 2008) Written by Domestic Science
I was almost felled by a plummeting disco ball this evening. http://www.flickr.com/photos/51106326@N00/2290767030/  * I needed some icre cream after that, I can tell you. Maybe my album should be called Death By Disco Ball . Then again, maybe not. (* No, I still don't know how to do links in posts.  Comments, yes; links no.)

On an easy par four within earshot of your revolutionary foldaway drums
(Tuesday, 19 February 2008) Written by Domestic Science
I think I might have finished all my songs. Which can only mean that I have not  finished all my songs. I shall listen to them on the iPod as I ride the bus to work in the morning and decide what, if any, tweaks should be made and what the tracklisting for the album should be.  The difficult part is resisting the temptation to compose ten songs  which consist of nothing but drum patterns that I like; apparently I'm supposed to add other instrumental noises to one's songs. I... (176 more chars)

You can't put your foot up in Europe
(Tuesday, 12 February 2008) Written by Domestic Science
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trance_Europe_Express I'm more than a tad annoyed by my inability to add a link to a blog post here.  My ineptitude with HTML and what have you is matched only by my incompetence with musical matters. I'm not sure if even ice cream can cheer me up this evening.

See, if I knew how to make the MP3s, you could be listening to the latest versions of Sleeper Composite and Superfield that I worked on after eating my ice cream this evening. You're lucky, really.

Inspired by no-one, other groups bore us
(Tuesday, 05 February 2008) Written by Domestic Science
I think I might have finished two songs, one of which isn't completely terrible;  Apoucroustic isn't bad , but it's lacking something....some sound or loop that I can't find in GarageBand.   Boundary Parallel . however, is not unpleasant.  I have loaded both songs onto my iPod, along with the eight incomplete tracks, and will listen to them on the bus tomorrow morning. In other news, I have written one verse of a lyric which I'll probably never finish; if anybody's interested, let me kn... (194 more chars)

(Monday, 04 February 2008) Written by Domestic Science
Six songs started, most of them pretty bad (and when I say "most of them pretty bad", I mean "all of them very bad"), and imported to my iPod so I can listen to them on the bus on my way to work in the morning. Now it's time for ice cream!

I keep wicket for the Quakers
(Saturday, 02 February 2008) Written by Domestic Science
Thought of titles for my ten songs: Apocroustic, Boundary Parallel, Iota Geminorum, It Begins With Flags, Makunufushi, Sleeper Composite, Spirit Of The Stairwell, Superfield, Triangles Of The Neck, XK Most, if not all, of these will change (probably more than once) between now and the end of the month. Work has begun on the first two. Now it's time for that bowl of ice cream I didn't have last night.

Act I, scene i - Brenda Blethyn gets shot
(Saturday, 02 February 2008) Written by Domestic Science
The hamster is chewing the bars of her cage. A bowl of icecream would be nice right now, but do I really want to walk to the kitchen? I shall create ten new GarageBand files, give them each a random title and go to sleep wondering why I couldn't think of a decent name for my *band*.... Wait....is Fifteen Puzzle the name of my band or the title of my album?  Hmmm....
