clique-i Well here it is: composerlink.org/clique In review, here's how this music was made: In 2000 I created an intentionally incomplete piece of music retroactively titled "proto-clique." I passed "proto-clique" onto my long lost friend Bilian, asking him to lay down a track to go with it. He came back with "clique-clique." A few weeks ago, I started passing around one or both of these tracks to RPMers, asking them to lay down their own clique tracks to go along with whateve... (853 more chars)
If you'd like to be a part of clique ( go here to read up on it, if you haven't already ), send me an e-mail (not a PM!) through the RPM e-mail system with clique in the subject. Into the body of your e-mail, copy and paste the following 6 questions and give me a very concise answer to each one. I certainly won't hold anyone to any of this, but some guesses could prove to be helpful just for scheduling purposes and as guidance on what to send you: time 1. How many days do you think... In under 48 hours, I went from considering scrapping this
whole RPM thing due to my loosing battle with technology...to dreaming up a
radically different and collaborative album plan...to amassing a roster of
RPMers (plus two from the outside word) twenty strong to take a sonic journey
into madness. Just a short while ago,
the process officially began. That’s
clique off!

For background on this project and the gist of how it works,
read this post: And
then, something cliqued!
This is a rather detailed dissertation on how clique works, and more specifically, how this first incarnation, which will result in an
album for the RPM Challenge will work. If you’d like to get involved and aren’t already on the
list , get in touch!

In my previous post , I talked about how I’m (now officially)
ditching my previous plan for the RPM Challenge. This is the new one: Back in around 2000, I had this neat idea for an
experimental music project. For some
reason, I never went through with it. Now
I’m going to use RPM as an excuse to try to go through with it. And it’s called: clique Here’s the idea and how you can be a part of it. In fact, clique depends on your participation! I created a skeletal pi... (1846 more chars)
At least, technologically speaking, I can’t get away. Rather
than bore anyone with a long story about this horrible chain of disasters and trips
to FedEX and so on and so forth, I’m just going to get right down to it:
One of my true goals in creating my RPM album this year (beyond
the ones I outlined in my previous post, I need restrictions. ) was to get familiar with all my new
gear. My little home studio had long
been in need of an upgrade, so last December I m... (1747 more chars)
I need restrictions. Sadly, it's the only way I get
things done. I could easily spend an eternity on a detail so minute that
not even I would notice. And without deadlines, that eternity
could be twice as long.
So, even though it’ll cramp my style, here is my plan for
getting 10 songs or 35-minutes worth of music done for the RPM Challenge (on top of my contribution to VUA's RPM album ). I may change these some of these rules before or possibly even after
