Re:RPM Cover Library - 2008/04/17 19:21OK, I'll put up what I gather from feedback are the two most popular songs on my album.
Behind The Moon
Code:
D
You see yourself in the mirror falling
A
Falling fast, but not quite falling through
D
Don't look back
D
You see yourself release your old fear
A
Release the fear, but not you hang-ups too
D
Don't go back
<em>(Chorus)</em>
G D
As the rain pours down upon your face
G
You look up, to see the moon turn blue
A
But no matter how hard you look it's gone
You sense yourself in a dream of nothing
Nothing there but a slow sad three note tune
Don't react
You find yourself on a long dark highway
A silent scream fills your mind but not the view
Don't hold back
<em>(Chorus)
(Mid 8)</em>
C
Escapist theme to your meaningless story
B
Don't keep up with the news
C
Youll go down in a blaze of glory
A
With that attitude
<em>(Chorus x 2)</em>
An Ingenious Confession Of The Truth
Code:
<em>Verses follow G D A C (except where shown)</em>
An ingenious confession of the truth
Masks the falsehoods from the fools
Stamping down on fabrication
Drain the will out from the nation
An egregious denial of the facts
Morale goes down not coming back
Bleats and barks form opposition
As he stands firm in his position <em>(verse ends in G G7)</em>
<em>(Chorus)</em>
Bm A6
Follow blindly down the path of least resistance
Bm D Dsus4
Crouch in shame as you succumb
Bm A6
Knowing words proclaim the peak of your existence
Bm D F# G A
You don't miss a beat, you keep on banging the drum
An exemplary dictation of intent
Behold the cash already spent
The shit has flown but nothing's stuck
Stock goes down as well as up
<em>(Chorus x 2)</em>

You got claws that rip my clothes And you got jaws that sting Baby I'm the cat that got the cream (Baby I'm the girl who got the cream) Got that Shakespearian tale And I love it when you sing I always hear you coming ting-a-ling (Baby I'm the girl who got the cream)
I'm no kitten at your ankles You're no ball of string Baby I'm your tiger lovin' thing (Baby I'm your tiger lovin' thing)
You don't care to talk about The things that drive you wild Baby you can show me in awhile (Baby you can show me in awhile) Got a perfect plan to use My cunning and my guile Anything else is just doggy style (Baby you can show me in awhile)
I'm no kitten at your ankles You're no ball of string Baby I'm your tiger lovin' thing (Baby be my tiger lovin' thing)
Others try... To tame you and me... But so tragically... We are out of their league, yeah yeah yeah
I sometimes find I fight the case Of things that are untrue Like the case for keeping you (Like the case for keeping you) And I know why you're out all night Because I do it too Even though trashcan chic's so last June (Like the case for keeping you)
I'm no kitten at your ankles You're no ball of string Baby I'm your tiger lovin' thing (Do you wanna be my tiger lovin' thing) I'm no kitten at your ankles You're no ball of string Baby I'm your tiger lovin' thing (Do you wanna be my tiger lovin' thing)

This is the completely unadulterated, chord-type-chart-thing for "watch it go." I can definitely do an easier one if you'd like. There arent too many fast changes, but there are plenty of chords. If you have that barre chord down yet, you should be okay. I'd be glad to simplify it for you, as well as tell you how to play any chord you'd like, if you need a hand.
In the strange circumstance that anyone would like any other of my songs, I'd be glad to post those as well.
Intro G to G maj 7 (tab 3X400X)
Verse 1 (same chords) I was writing to you about writing to you on a train cause there's something unnerving about speeding and swerving through lanes G----------------G/F#------Em-------------------------Bm------D thinking of the passion that old fashioned movies portrayed F---------------------------Am----------------------Em---(D/F#)---G the anticipation, the landscapes, the station, the soft serenade
Chorus 1 ---------C-------------Cm----------Bb------------------F in my mind i want it though my eyes will watch it go --------Fm--------Ab----------------(intro chords) but sometimes to grow you just get smaller
Verse 2 thinking of the words that i've now only heard in black and white how what others could say now seems trite or cliched or not right and love is a ball tossed around by us all and then dropped and the chivalrous arts of the humphrey bogarts has altogether stopped
Chorus 2 ---------C-------------Cm-----Bb-------------Bbm--------------F in my mind i watch it but the world will close it shut before our eyes --------Fm--------Ab---Eb----C----(Cm) and the wind will erase our minds
(intro chords)
Verse 3 G-------------------D----------------Em i was writing to you about riding to you on a train F--------------------------------------Am--------------------------Em its narrow and crowded but there's something about it that's sane

Re:RPM Cover Library - 2008/04/18 02:39I'm going to record one of these tomorrow. Haven't decided which yet. I like the idea of other interpretations of peoples music. And I like the idea of other people re-interpreting mine. Should be an interesting thread this, if it takes off.

Re:RPM Cover Library - 2008/04/18 16:46Just working on my version of "Tiger Lovin' Thing" I'll try to get something together and upload it soon. I hope it comes off well. I know I won't be able to match your smexy vocals Tess, but perhaps I'll provide another perspective...should be interesting at lest

Re:RPM Cover Library - 2008/04/18 18:01I'm working on Escape by Angie Fights Crime
Had a bit of a hiccup today when the tube went in my pre-amp, but after rushing around I've found a replacement. Hopefully I'll have something postable tomorrow evening UK time...

Re:RPM Cover Library - 2008/04/18 19:56I keep on thinking about my songs and thinking of the chords used. Even though most of the songs I'm thinking about have normal chords, there's a few of the chords I have no idea what they would be named. And I haven't been able to find them on/in any guides. I guess I could just map those couple of questionable chords out on a tablature setup if I put one of my songs up on here...arggghhh.

I LOVE this song. And being fair about the delay, I have only been "playing" the guitar for about a week, so it's a steep curve. Will hopefully get my ahem 'version' recorded in the next couple of days, family permitting.
