Re:RPM Cover Library - 2008/04/17 20:00 Everything

ab, db

she tries to hard, to be the master
of her everything
random chance has no place here
if it can't be cleaned or put away
and her highway, stretches far and wide
selfish seeking silence in the fray
sickly, uninviting, and turn away
welcome to your everything

escape

(G, C, Eb)
(G) when she's away
(C) i go out
(Eb) escape (C, G)
(G) when i wake up
(C) all alone
(Eb) escape (C, G)
(Eb, F) return (G) to where i was
(Eb, F) return (G) to where i was (eb, c)
(single notes G, F#, E)
(E) in this (D) song, in this (C) song
i make excuses (G) all (F#) day (E) long
(E) in this (D) song, in this (C) song forever now together
(G, C, Eb)
(G) when she's away
(C) i cry out
(Eb) escape (C, G)
(G) when i wake up
(C) all alone, alone
(Eb) escape (C, G)
(Eb)running (F) back (G) to her arms
(Eb)running (F) back (G) to her arms
(Eb) running (C)
(single notes G, F#, E)
(E) in this (D) song, in this (C) song
my excuses (G) sing (F#) a- (E) long
(E) in this (D) song, in this (C) song forever, now together (G, F#, E)
(E) in this (D) song, in this (C) song
i make excuses (G) all (F#) day (E) long
(E) in this (D) song, in this (C) song forever now together

sleep

(intro chords (A, D7)
(A) fading, just so, the light, the light
out my window, hold tight, hold (D7) tight
fading (A)
(A) stretching out, this road, goes on and on
out my window, who even knows which road we're (D7) on
stretching, forever (A)
but i just wanna (G) sleep, my (D) life away (A)
(G) please don't wake me (D) up, until we arrive
(A) falling, in and out, the love the love
point fingers, everyone's innocent and to (D7) blame
falling, in or out (A)
(A) sighing, laughing, the way back home it seems so clear
enough with the words hold tight, hold (D7) tight
sighing, laughing, crying (A)
but i'd just rather (G) sleep, my (D) life away (A)
(G) please don't wake me (D) up, until we arrive (A)

i could take requests as well.

Re:RPM Cover Library - 2008/04/17 23:54 Deeply easy chords available on request!

TIGER LOVIN' THING (Savigear & Denney 2008)

You got claws that rip my clothes
And you got jaws that sting
Baby I'm the cat that got the cream
(Baby I'm the girl who got the cream)
Got that Shakespearian tale
And I love it when you sing
I always hear you coming ting-a-ling
(Baby I'm the girl who got the cream)

I'm no kitten at your ankles
You're no ball of string
Baby I'm your tiger lovin' thing (Baby I'm your tiger lovin' thing)

You don't care to talk about
The things that drive you wild
Baby you can show me in awhile
(Baby you can show me in awhile)
Got a perfect plan to use
My cunning and my guile
Anything else is just doggy style
(Baby you can show me in awhile)

I'm no kitten at your ankles
You're no ball of string
Baby I'm your tiger lovin' thing (Baby be my tiger lovin' thing)

Others try...
To tame you and me...
But so tragically...
We are out of their league, yeah yeah yeah

I sometimes find I fight the case
Of things that are untrue
Like the case for keeping you
(Like the case for keeping you)
And I know why you're out all night
Because I do it too
Even though trashcan chic's so last June
(Like the case for keeping you)

I'm no kitten at your ankles
You're no ball of string
Baby I'm your tiger lovin' thing (Do you wanna be my tiger lovin' thing)
I'm no kitten at your ankles
You're no ball of string
Baby I'm your tiger lovin' thing (Do you wanna be my tiger lovin' thing)

Re:RPM Cover Library - 2008/04/18 00:45 To Tess...

This is the completely unadulterated, chord-type-chart-thing for "watch it go." I can definitely do an easier one if you'd like. There arent too many fast changes, but there are plenty of chords. If you have that barre chord down yet, you should be okay. I'd be glad to simplify it for you, as well as tell you how to play any chord you'd like, if you need a hand.

In the strange circumstance that anyone would like any other of my songs, I'd be glad to post those as well.

Intro G to G maj 7 (tab 3X400X)

Verse 1
(same chords)
I was writing to you about writing to you on a train
cause there's something unnerving about speeding and swerving through lanes
G----------------G/F#------Em-------------------------Bm------D
thinking of the passion that old fashioned movies portrayed
F---------------------------Am----------------------Em---(D/F#)---G
the anticipation, the landscapes, the station, the soft serenade

Chorus 1
---------C-------------Cm----------Bb------------------F
in my mind i want it though my eyes will watch it go
--------Fm--------Ab----------------(intro chords)
but sometimes to grow you just get smaller

Verse 2
thinking of the words that i've now only heard in black and white
how what others could say now seems trite or cliched or not right
and love is a ball tossed around by us all and then dropped
and the chivalrous arts of the humphrey bogarts has altogether stopped

Chorus 2
---------C-------------Cm-----Bb-------------Bbm--------------F
in my mind i watch it but the world will close it shut before our eyes
--------Fm--------Ab---Eb----C----(Cm)
and the wind will erase our minds

(intro chords)

Verse 3
G-------------------D----------------Em
i was writing to you about riding to you on a train
F--------------------------------------Am--------------------------Em
its narrow and crowded but there's something about it that's sane

Re:RPM Cover Library - 2008/04/18 02:39 I'm going to record one of these tomorrow. Haven't decided which yet. I like the idea of other interpretations of peoples music. And I like the idea of other people re-interpreting mine. Should be an interesting thread this, if it takes off.

Re:RPM Cover Library - 2008/04/18 18:01 I'm working on Escape by Angie Fights Crime

Had a bit of a hiccup today when the tube went in my pre-amp, but after rushing around I've found a replacement. Hopefully I'll have something postable tomorrow evening UK time...

Re:RPM Cover Library - 2008/04/18 19:56 I keep on thinking about my songs and thinking of the chords used. Even though most of the songs I'm thinking about have normal chords, there's a few of the chords I have no idea what they would be named. And I haven't been able to find them on/in any guides. I guess I could just map those couple of questionable chords out on a tablature setup if I put one of my songs up on here...arggghhh.

Re:RPM Cover Library - 2008/04/22 03:27 Folk Punk Baby
Fence Flatley
One Inch From Midget
February 2008

(E7) I saw you sittin there
(E7) In your barstool chair
(E7) Looking (A) 75 varieties of (E7) bored

(E7) You said "Intrigue me please"
(E7) I could surely see
(A) That you just could not be (E7) ignored

(E7) So we talked for like
(E7) Twenty minutes. y'know it seemed like
(A) But it was really all night (E7) long
(E7) You had a hold on me
(E7) It was plain to see
(A) And in my mind, I was writing this (E7) song.

Chorus

(G) Baby, Baby, Baby, Yeah
(A) My folk punk baby yeah
(E7) Baby, Baby, Baby, Yeah
(G) My folk (A) punk baby (E7) yeah

(E7) You liked my sandpaper voice
(E7) I simply had no choice
(A) We both hate the same kinds of (E7) shit

(E7) We are shallow as hell
(E7) But as deep as a well
(A) And neither of mind, not a (E7) bit

(E7) You got me from the start
(E7) Got my black little heart
(A) And from you I never will (E7) stray

(E7) See, you got my attention
(E7) Now I'm in your detention
(A) And I'd have it no other fuckin' (E7) way..

Chorus X 2.

Re:RPM Cover Library - 2008/04/23 18:55 Jim Tyrrell - Gray Rainbow

Dm Am
It's a long way up through the dark black clouds
Dm E7
Where trouble grows but don't look now
Dm Am
'Cause here it comes on this old brick town
E7 Am
The gray rainbow is coming down

I was a working man down at the mill
But they closed the door so I work the still
Making moonshine and drinking it down
Until the next job comes around (Chorus)

For fifty years that mill and I
Sent poison smoke into the sky
And since those days don't nothing grow
But a thundercloud and a gray rainbow (Chorus)

These friends of mine with nothing to do
Tried my moonshine - now they drink it too
So I make a dime when they come around
The only paying work I've found (Chorus)

(instr.)

Been a long long time - it seems like years
And we're going blind and no one cares
'Cause all this town's got left to show
Is a thundercloud and a gray rainbow (Chorus)

Sister Savage is already doing this one (and I eagerly await the result), but hey.
Yes, I do rhyme 'numbers' with 'encompass', but I think I just about get away with it.

Em----A------------------Em
To encompass all I've done

----------------------A-------------------Em
But I couldn't get away from empty grind

--------A
To unwind

--------------G-----------------------A-------------------Em
Through the dark and through the light I'll practice this

---------------G------------------------A--------------Em
Through the day and through the night I can't resist

G------ A-------------Em
But I fear the goodbye

G-------A---------Em
And I hear no reply

--------------------A------------------Em
Trapped inside a dozen points of view

------------A
None are true

Em---------------A------------------Em
Walking to the mountain two by two

-----------A
Me with you

Em-----A
Final curtain

Em-----A---------------Em
Never certain of the end

-------------------------A---------------------Em
But I didn't know the nothing that I must do

------------A
Pay my dues

-------G----------------A--------------------Em
In a garden's secret light I'll take your hand

--------------G------------------A----------------Em
Treat me wrong or treat me right, I'll understand

G------A--------------Em
But I fear the goodbye

G-------A---------Em
And I hear no reply

G-----------------A----------------Em
Nothing's older, nothing's wiser, nothing's walked away

--------G----------------A------------------Em
To belong and to be gone and wonder why

A---------------Em
What did you say

A----------Em
Wasn't okay

---------G------------A--------------Em
To remind me of another way to be

A--------------Em
Time will go on

A-----------Em
Waiting upon

----------G--------------A------------Em
All the differences in everything I see

----------G-----------------A--------------Em
I don't want to walk that lonely road again

-------G--------------A------------------Em----A----Em----A----Em----A----Em
So I ask you be beside me... till the end

I Went Down

F#m
F#m
I went down
I went down
I went down

---------C#
I went down

-------------F#m
Well if you look through the eyes of the people above

--------Bm
They'll show you what I mean

---------F#m----C#
I went down

--------F#m
I went down

[chord pattern repeats]

I went down
To catch that train
I went down
All in the rain
Well if it's time to believe then I wanna be gone
And I'll walk that little way
I went down
I went down

I went down
The shape I'm in
To my home town
But not to begin
Well if you fall through the world then you're never again
Gonna break down that old wall
I went down
I went down

--------F#m-A-----B
I went down down down

--------------------------A
Do what you're thinkin bout

F#m--A-----B
Down down down

------------------A
You wanna slow down

F#m--A-----B
Down down down

------------------------C#
You're gonna fall behind

[instrumental - same chords as verse - repeat twice]

[repeat 1st verse]

[find some way of ending it]

Sister Savage is already doing this one (and I eagerly await the result), but hey.

I LOVE this song. And being fair about the delay, I have only been "playing" the guitar for about a week, so it's a steep curve. Will hopefully get my ahem 'version' recorded in the next couple of days, family permitting.
