Who Love Ya Baby?! - 2008/04/10 07:35 Have the you felt the love?

Last year and most of this year, I was a relatively obscure contributor on a big list of musicians. While it was an inspiring connection to be combined in such a global thing, I also felt kind of small. This year has been different. We had a listening party here in the DFW (Dallas, Fort Worth Texas) area. I got to exchange a few discs this year AND I have more to mail out. Got some new traffic to my newest mixes on Virb because of some positive exposure. I had some folks listen to my CD and give thier opinions. A musician is nothing if no one hears. I feel heard in 2008 and I would like to say thanks to RPM and the global community. That's my story...so far.

What's your love story?

Re:Who Love Ya Baby?! - 2008/04/10 16:38 Lindell, I couldn't agree with you more. RPM seems to have two very significant elements:

1) Forcing (empowering, providing the atmosphere for, etc) artists to make something.
2) Allowing that product - music - to be shared.

When both these elements are in play I think we derive the most satisfaction. I can make music all I want for me and those people in my household who I 'invite' to hear it - but until its really shared with people who are invested in it, well its just the proverbial tree falling in the forest.

That's the great thing about all the creative ways everybody interacts. Whether its through live listening parties, online parties, our virtual SL party, the fantasmagoricalishus Jukebox, blogs, forums...all of these things provide us ways to Get It Out There at so many levels.

We're in an amazing age. I for one feel so fortunate to have fallen into this community. It truly is awesome.
