Re:Jukebox Update - Pulling old one down! - 2008/03/28 21:32 Excellent work by all involved. Found a few bugs and annoyances, but nothing major so I won't bother you with them yet.

Love the random 100. Already discovered a new favourite - "To You Americans It May Be Small" from "Bantai JiQiRen" by Huang-Yinjing

Support for Linux?

I don;t get this. I use "NoScript" plugin to Firefox which let's me pick which scripts to run site by site. So I don't get those annoying Flash ads or whatever.

The Jukebox works fine without scripts enabled. I can search play all that goodie, goodie, after enabling the main Jukebox flash player. I can't login in and I can't use the features like the tearable player.

Could we PLEASE get a version of the Jukebox that's doesn't version check my Flash version

Hey Mick - email YOUR WHOLE POST to rpmjukebox@gmail.com

Ken checks that... it's way over my head... but I know what you're saying at least!

Quick Fixes + Ranking! - 2008/03/28 22:23 We have some database caching set-up.. If you upload/edit Band or Album info - it may take some time for it to refresh in the Library database.. Long story.. but it's for performance reasons. We're making it refresh every 1/2 hr here soon.. but we're very concerned about the volume of traffic tonight.

ALSO - a unanimous decision has been made to DISABLE the AutoPlay services of the Home Page player.. it's too jarring with Headphones and loud songs!

Sorry for all the damage we may have caused unsuspecting victims!! REALLY!

ALSO - DONT FORGET ABOUT RANKING SONGS!

You can rank songs ONCE YOU HAVE LOGGED IN - You can rank them in a PlayList and have that map back out to the main library!! IT"S SWEET!

Thanks, Mos. Can someone PM Ken's phone # to me? And let him know I want to call? That'd be much quicker.

Also, maybe I just have two logins. Are there two accounts with "mick" in the database?

It says "RPC Error -- Unable to invoke CFC -- The parameters provided resulted in more than one record" when I try to login in as "mick" my RPM username.

Nice work. Even without full support I'm having a great time! A thousand thanks!

Ken's working right now.. at like his job.. so email is quicker really. We're both working.. same company actually.. and he knows exactly what your'e saying but wanted it in email..

Also.. there are about 150 or so user accounts with login issues.. we had to launch with tons of known bugs.. and it was our goal to have as many buttoned up before as possible..

so give it time.. we know who's accounts have issues, but as we're dealing iwth extracts from Joomla merging with an iTunes library file.. our biggest focus has been getting Songs to Play.. and bands being associated correctly to Albums.. which in and of itself has been... well.. fun.. And yeah.. then we're building the jukebox simultanounesly... in a month this thing will have everything worked out and we'll be able to focus on FEATURE ENHANCEMENT!!!

Re:Jukebox Update - Pulling old one down! - 2008/03/28 22:44 Hey every RPMer that completed an album let's send Mos and Ken $10 each. That's like $7.5K each and they can take week off next week just to work for us. I'm sure their bosses will understand.

I confidently speak for Ken in saying that is a FANTASTIC IDEA! We'll be sure to purchase a dedicated server, a respectable bandwidth co-lo account for 1 yr and make this sucker shine! No problem!

15-30 min DB refresh time for Album/Band updates - 2008/03/28 22:51 Joshua Wentz wrote:

Also, tried updating my artist info... but the revised info doesn't replace the old on the player. Seems to be either a refresh issue or a disconnect between the player and the profiles.

OK JOsh - I see your pretty little face - but no album images.. try uploading a different image for each album - and give it 15 minutes or so.. for the change to take effect..

YES it's official - we're like 15 - 30 min for things to refresh if you make changes.. sorry about that.. it's the law of the server right now.

Re:2008 Jukebox v3.0 Preview! - 2008/03/31 18:59 Is there some criteria like size and file size for album images? I keep trying to upload. The "uploading" bar appears then just disappears. No erros in the "Error console".

Ideas?

You should use the RPM Website Password reminder service - http://www.rpmchallenge.com/component/option,com_comprofiler/task,lostPassword/

It appears below the User/Pass login area when you LOGOUT -

The Jukebox is NOT connected to this website - but we used the User/Pass combo for bands so we could align your album with you!

Go Tang go! I can reset your password if you PM me what you want.. or email the tech support email accessible off the jukebox..

Can't we do anything right for you 64-bit linux users!?!?

Umm... really.. that makes no sense.. The images will need to be 200 x 200 so... try saving them down to that size.. Not sure why.. long story.. but Ken is 'stretching' the images to be 200x200... so.. may as well make your source images that size.

How's the rest of Jukebox working these days? I know your initial issue is on the big bug list! Did you get the docked player to work by chance?

A little gassy and still hung over from the Listening Party!! I guess I almost fell off the balcony at the Music Hall demoing the Jukebox from the projection booth... Dave still isn't talking to me.

Is your CD correct in the jukebox? Can you login OK?

By the way, where is the volume control on the jukebox? I seem to have misplaced it.

Cheers,

awe shucks. Ken's forgiven me for calling him Dickass all night, but have you really forgiven me for the Golden Tonsils comment?

And also.. we're still working out the mechanics of going to 11 on the volume knob, but it should be able to roll out in a near-future update to the playe!

2008 Jukebox v3.0 confusion - 2008/04/01 06:30 Don't you hate it when what you suspect to be a completely obvious things just completely escapes you?

You can rearrange songs, remove songs (using the delete key) and rate any song in your playlists.

Why can't I do this? I can't seem to delete a track from my play lists, no matter how hard I press the delete key.

I can't even rearrange them. I can click and drag, but ain't nothing moving!

And although I'm brilliant enough to click on the little stars to rate tracks, I wonder...can I un-rate them?

Re:2008 Jukebox v3.0 confusion - 2008/04/01 22:33 Nope. It was a case of poor timing with random weirdness. I just went back in to look at the playlist I'd created, and it didn't even exist anymore. So, I created a new one, added, deleted, and re-arranged tracks, just like it says on the side of the box.

Mystery solved....or rather: become irrelevant.

Yes, thank you very much! It's all present and correct (if in a slightly strange order).

Re:2008 Jukebox v3.0 Preview! - 2008/04/01 23:25 I make a motion to add the album year to the library lists... It is not clear which albums are from what year!

Track/Artist/Album/Year/Genre

That would be loverly.

Re:2008 Jukebox v3.0 Preview! - 2008/04/01 23:31 You can do that.

Click on that little spreadsheet looking thing on the far right of the Search field and choose whatever columns you like. And you can arrange the order by dragging.

Even in Linux.
