Songs to fight war to - 2008/02/14 00:25 I am a nervous wreck. I'm not sure how my music stacks up against anyone else, and I think that I wrote a sound-alike but I'm not sure.

Would you kindly give my stuff a listen? My equipment is crap, so there is a very high noise floor that I apologize for in advance.

Re:Songs to fight war to - 2008/02/14 00:47 I've had a listen. You're in the same ballpark as me; feeling like you possibly are in the wrong place, but still giving it a go. Sweetest Smile and Inculullaby are very listenable; I wonder about toning the solo guitar down a bit as I feel it intrudes into the song, but I'm no expert. Leave them a couple of days and then re-listen.

I wouldn't worry about the sound quality, at the end of the day you can always improve equipment quality over time if you are planning on doing more of this.

Keep going, you're closer to the goal than me!

Re:Songs to fight war to - 2008/02/14 01:19 Can't find your songs...sorry, it's late and I am slow at the best of times. What's your band name? Can't find you.

click on the tiny person underneath Jubeh's name to the left of his first post.

I like Inculullaby. you could do with a pop filter, stretch a stocking over some wire to sing through3 inches off your mic to stop those breathy windy sounds that sneak through sometimes.

LOL I managed 19 seconds of Bayonet theme

Aftermath is interesting - 1 minute

Hanging Man - the songs really grab me, work a bit on the performance so your mic technique sparkles and these will shine. It's just getting to know them, I think. I hear what templaar refers to about the solo

Click the little head next to the "PM" box under her artist name in her message.

Wish I could listen, but I've killed the sound on my internet machine. Cool read on the profile, though.

Re:Songs to fight war to - 2008/02/14 01:59 It's some great stuff you're coming up with there - yes, your equipment is clearly stone-age, but oh the lovely guitar! For me Inculullaby is the stand-out track.

I quite like the lead stuff personally; an interesting contrast with the pretty rhythm line and the angular, jagged noodling, but I appreciate it's not to everybody's taste.

I got to 30 seconds on Bayonet Theme before I went looking for tunes...

Oh, and by the way, my mate Alan said it was him who invented the universe.

Re:Songs to fight war to - 2008/02/14 06:06 Wow, thank you all for listening. Bayonet Theme was meant to be a really bad sounding track, and I can understand that it's pretty retarded out of the context of the album, but it was part of the war theme. Believe it or not, but there's a 16 year old kid in Canada that put that song on his iPod.

I appreciate all your comments. And I DID invent the universe. I have my name on it somewhere.

Re:Songs to fight war to - 2008/02/14 14:11 Ha! You have nothing to worry about! Some really good stuff here, and I love your voice! My favourite is Sweetest Smile. Love that voice and guitar thing!

Post more!
