Post your demo's here. - 2008/02/01 13:36I thought that since the Demo/Sample Engine is up yet (arrival imminent, tho' ) and the blog listing is a bit quirky that we could post links to demo (or finished ) tracks here. I'll start you off with a demo written this morning, to music chu-chunked out last night.
it's still rough but it's exciting to be up 'n' running ...

Re:Post your demo's here. - 2008/02/01 14:27Alright, I'll bite. Here's 60 seconds I did right after midnight. It's called "Out on the Hull"; part of the Drone for the Empire album from my Beyond the Oort Cloud regime. The album is the story of a primitive plucked from his planet, to fight an intergalactic war. Based upon, mostly, "Their Master's War" by Mick Farren.

Re:Post your demo's here. - 2008/02/01 15:55Thanks! I was logged in, but I can't figure out how to link any other way...still learning Virb. I'll try to fix it.
As for the Orbital, well, I would say yes, if I had heard more than one of their songs in the last 15 years, meaning, I think I remember one, but haven't heard it in a looong time. That's just a sketch at the moment, and I want to redo some of the synth bass in it. The backing rythym track is from a Computer Music sample kit. I'm building around it. That's the strategy for this album is samples built into songs to fit the mood of each track. Glad you liked it!

Nice work, Stu.
This came to mind:
I knew a gal with lotsa hair runnin' down her back Used to swing her around when we danced in the shack Hair flyin' 'round her head a halo all soot black (or coal black or pitch black) Took my guitar and run off down the railroad track
I did three didj parts last night, but they're all backing and nothing worth listening to now.

Re:Post your demo's here. - 2008/02/01 23:18Hai this is Cyber Cat 9000. I has made you my first song. It is for cats, by cats, but humans are ok too. Meow, meow, meeeeooooowwww!
Scroll down and click on play next to the song title. It's pretty obvious which one it is.
Joshua, if you read this, I e-mailed the file to you and put your link on the info page of this little ditty so everyone can find your podcasts.
Cheers all,
Gary

I don't know, Stu, that's the problem. But if you find her, that's my guitar.

Re:Post your demo's here. - 2008/02/02 00:33alright then - just a template at moment - but it will most likely get more layers of guitar fuzz and "prince-like" juno 106 noodlings -that's fer sure
of course... the story behind this is that these little punks crank called me over a span of a year... little did they know i was archiving the calls that would one day make them internet superstars!

Re:Post your demo's here. - 2008/02/02 03:02Words can't even express how cool it is to listen to new songs not even 24 hours into the competition. The sheer bizarre variety is just making my night better.
microKorg and a recording of my car CD player on fast forward for good measure. Mixed in Sony Acid.

Re:Post your demo's here. - 2008/02/02 08:02so never try to sing when you're really sick, cause you will suck hard my goal today was to sleep until i felt better, but then i thought i'd attempt to track as many songs as possible in preparation for the drums next weekend, which basically meant a guitar and vox with lengths set. i got through 8 songs, and i'm happy with the lengths on 7 of them, and of those, the onlly one that the vocals don't sound like absolute and complte crap is the g idea. this is actually called "escape" and it will sound muchly different than this after it's been fully tracked.
