Re:Post your demo's here. - 2008/02/07 05:34Well here's your first taste of Everyday Wonder! I've recorded about half the songs I need now (14) so I thought I'd go ahead and post one on myspace. My RPM song is the one called "Screaming Sharks." It's the one on the top so it shouldn't be too hard to miss. Technically this isn't a demo, but I'm sure you won't mind if I post it here.
It is the third installment of my 'encounters' album.
I used a Casio SK-1, and because I don't know how to use it.. I had to simply play notes live and record them into my software multi-track.. There I applied heavy FX as to mask the inherent lack of musical talent I have.
I"m adding my current cover artwork! Just listened to all 3 songs back to back like 4 times.. PSYCH OUT!

For your convenience, I've posted a version with out the august Jerry Falwell's introduction, just because it's boring. If you google this song, the whole thing is available all over the interweb.
(Crystal Bernard, btw, grew up to be the short, exasperating blonde chick on the sitcom Wings. Just so ya know.)

Re:Post Your Demos Here - 2008/02/08 10:23I got a couple more basic tracks. It seems like I'm gettting a bunch of basic tracks down before i do any polishing or 'production'.
The First is Place In Your Heart, an attempt at a doowop song that hasn't quite come out the way I first heard it. More of a torch ballad, now.
ANd the second started as a joke over dinner with the kids, and turned into a novelty 50s rocker:Shut Up, Master
if any one has any thoughts or suggestions I'd love to hear em

Re:Post your demo's here. - 2008/02/08 12:08The first track off of "In The Event Of Moon Disaster". This may or may not be the final version, depending on the time I have....
This is directly inspired by listening to too much Mosfet! unfortunately late last night when i output this i forgot to include the juno 106 wind-noise patch - but the meat is here.
This is a Casio Rapman track (1 of 4) - might have to "chop" and "screw" this some more - too many unecessary FX on this - a result of being up way too late last night!!!
Ever get the feeling you don't know what the hell you are trying to do musically? I feel that way about the second track - should I trash it and move on to better things - or include it as a performance art piece - high on concept, low on technique
I guess that decision will just have to be made at a later date - no need to get bogged down.
In any event things are rolling along nicely - i'm ready for the weekend to start now!!!

Re:Post your demo's here. - 2008/02/08 20:54I added a full demo of ballot box. Not 100% satisfied with the vocals, and the mix isn't full enough yet, so I'll be adding keys, synths, or something.

Re:Post your demo's here. - 2008/02/08 21:04As I mentioned in my blog, I tried out the new demo engine and put up the intro piece "Stoking the Fire." You know the drill: click on the artist's profile and enjoy.

Re:New Demos Posted - 2008/02/09 01:11Wow, we're not even halfway and I've got two new favourites already.
Super Happy Fail Party sound exactly like their name implies; it get's on my nerves, it's silly, it's distorted, it goes on and on, but it's always gReAt! Props guys! (and their record is about finished already!)
Peter Fedofsky makes wonderfull melodic tunes and finished half his record already.
What's with all these people finishing their records in the first two weeks. It make me sort of nervous. Calm down will you...

Got 5 songs up there; pretty rough around the edges, but you get the general idea.

there's a new version of "Place In My Heart" that I'm much happier with. It's at the same link.

Re:Post your demo's here. - 2008/02/10 00:47I've stuck a couple of tracks up on my profile. They're still quite rough (especially Untitled 2) and the volume levels leave a bit to be desired but they're up there - feel free to take a listen

I'm normally in a band and the RPM challenge is an opportunity for me to try and see if I can go solo. So I'm not really interested in a collab, sorry. BUT, you are welcome to play around with whatever I produce, remix it, whatever (so long as you don't try and make money from it).

Re:Post Demos— Here! - 2008/02/10 06:05Demos are way more interesting than the mac thread! Let's put this back on the list!
Here's the latest from me, still quite in progress... maybe I'll get one track completely finished by the end of the weekend.

Re:Post Demos— Here You Go! - 2008/02/10 06:50My attempt at rockabilly with a power pop slant. Thanks to RPM's own Will Deuel for the solo. It makes me think Tattoos, Twang, and Telecasters!

Re:Post your demo's here. - 2008/02/11 02:03Hi. I posted as Citizen Six last year. This time I'm doing an album of drinking songs under my real name.
I've written a few of them, but the first of the recorded versions went up today. It's called Gray Rainbow. You can hear it on my profile page, or at this link:
