We were completely inspired by this blog by Thor, Bass Maniac, and we have offcially declared January 31 to be "Thor, Bass Maniac Day." Hear the words of Thor:
"Greetings RPMers!
Because the RPM Challenge is such a great way to get people working on music I would like to invite all current participants to initiate a final push to get as many people participating and putting music first as possible. Here's the plan:
1. Copy the RPM Challenge from the website here: http://www.rpmchallenge.com/content/view/844/1/.
2. Hop onto your social networking site of choice (MySpace, Facebook, ect...) and/or any forums you are a part of and paste it into a new blog or bulletin entry.
3. Make sure to put a link or the website at the bottom so any takers-on will know where to sign up.
It's simple and it's for a great cause. Get the word out and we'll all reap the benefits come March!

We couldn't have said it better ourselves!
A number of you have asked who owns the right to your music once submitted -- the answer, of course, is that you do! Artists retain all rights to their music, we ask only to be able to put the finished music up in the online jukebox to stream so that everyone can enjoy it, but you can even opt out of that if you like. Our apologies that these "terms" -- or lack thereof -- aren't more clearly presented on the site, but we are in the process of redoing our FAQ so that should be back up soon.
A quick note about returning participants signing up for 2008, or new participants who might have "signed up" but neglected to check the "sign up for 2008" box -- checking that little box is actually what lets us know you're in, so just make sure you go into your profile (click on "your details > edit > update your profile" ) and check the box to sign up for 2008!
