We want you on video! - 2008/02/09 23:55
We want to capture some of the creative energy, frustration, and excitement that have gone into your RPM project, so we're asking for five-minute clips from anyone who has the capability of recording one -- which could be anything from a cameraphone with audio all the way up to a professional digital video camera. If you have a webcam, we'd love to talk with you one-on-one. We'll happily save you a bunch of time by recording the conversations ourselves through the magic of the interweb here at RPM HQ. Email our RPM Videomonkey at eyesfingerstoes@gmail.com, and he'll help set you up!
We're hoping to capture: your bad self playing music, showing us your recording space and especially answering the following questions:
About you:
1. What's your name? 2. How old are you? 3. Where are you from? 4. How long have you been playing music? 5. What role does music play in your life?
About your RPM project:
1. What's the name of your RPM project? 2. Is it solo or group effort? 3. Who are you playing with and what instruments are they playing? 4. What style of music is the project? 5. Is this different than what you normally do? 6. How are you recording your project? 7. Why did you decide to sign up for the challenge? 8.Talk about your RPM experience so far: funniest/most frustrating/craziest/transcende nt moment, greatest challenge? 9. What are your post-RPM musical plans? 10. Anything else?
Important Guidelines for Video :
1. No more than five minutes long. 2. Preferred format is NTSC video file in .dv (digital video) format, hopefully at least 640 x 480 pixels (but we'd prefer largest available) 3. .mov and .avi are also acceptable, 640 x 480 or higher preferred (Many digital cameras and cameraphones can record video in these file formats -- if that's what you have, give it a try!) 4. Upload it now! Login to www.rpmchallenge.com, then on the user menu (under the login), click "upload a video" 5. The sooner the better -- we'll have a different set of questions later in the month, when you're closer to done. 6. No more than five minutes long.
Please note that by submitting your video clip to us, you are giving us the rights to the video to use as we see fit. There are lots of possible ways that video can be used to tell the story of RPM -- your story -- but it's hard to tell exactly what those ways will be in advance so we need a little latitude.
