Help us spread the word! - 2008/01/21 00:21 To those of you who are new sign-ups -- Hello! and to those who are returning RPM'ers, Welcome back!! It's great to see you again!

(and if you're a 2007 participant who hasn't signed up yet, remember to just make sure you go into your profile (click on "your details > edit > update your profile" ) and check the box to sign up for 2008.

A bunch of you have been asking about this year's poster, so here it is -- you can download it and print it out to put up around your neighborhood, your local record store, or just stick on your fridge. (Thanks to Haunted Milk for the the design!)

Download the poster here:
http://www.rpmchallenge.com/images/stories/misc/poster_rpm_08.pdf

People mostly hear about RPM by word-of-mouth, so e-mail your friends, or mailing lists, and let them know -- there's a sample message here:
http://www.rpmchallenge.com/images/stories/misc/e-mail_sign-up_08.rtf
or just tell them in your own words why they should sign up -- or why you did!

If you use digg.com or one of the other social networking or bookmarking sites, then you can also help us spread the word by taking a minute to click the little buttons in the lower-right corner of the site -- the more times that www.rpmchallenge.com gets submitted, the more people will hear about it. (and if you don't use any of those services, then consider taking a moment to sign up...)

We know it's hard to imagine life past February, but this year's Global Listening Party (where RPM particpants get together and listen to each other's music for a night) will be on Friday, March 28, and we're looking for people to to put on regional listening parties. We'll have a big one here in downtown Portsmouth, NH, but last year participants also put on listening parties in Denver, Seattle, Cleveland, New York, Austin, Chicago, Cortenay BC, and the Twin Cities, so if you're interested in hosting your own then drop us a line at info@rpmchallenge.com. It would be great to have some parties outside of North America this year!

And lastly, everyone who got an e-mail called "Subscribe confirmation for RPM 2007-2008" -- please ignore it!! It was just our mailing program having some good fun with us.

We have a lot more news to roll out in the coming days, but for now, just let people know what's happening!

While some sites offer cash prizes to indie bands willing to upload their music, the organizers of the RPM Challenge ask entrants to "record an album in 29 days, just because you can,"
