mp3 format? - 2008/02/17 07:23 I can't find this anywhere - i'm curious about the mp3 format - does it have to be 128kbps or can we upload 160 kbps (i noticed that was Radioheads in rainbows format) and 160 does sound better...

I guess I could just try to upload the 160kbps mp3...

Re:mp3 format? - 2008/02/18 06:10 I just got around to posting demos, and it looks like they applied a 15 song/30MB quota. So I would think you could use 160kbps, but you might not be able to demo your whole album. That's the approach I'm taking anyway, since I don't have time to resample just to post demos here.

Re:mp3 format? - 2008/02/18 06:16 I've used higher bitrates, but... Along similar lines as what chrooke was saying, though, since I've been posting mp3s at 160 and 192kbps, now I'm starting to regret it, since I'm down to my last 5MBs of space...

Re:mp3 format? - 2008/02/18 06:45 thanx guys, i see what u mean about the higher bitrate using more space. i think the trade-off is worth bumping it up to at least 160kbps, the improvement of the fidelity is really noticeable over 128.

i guess if u run out of space, u could always delete earlier demos and post new ones tho?

anyway i might have a new demo up tonite - i'm still unsure if the name is "skinner box" or "cages", it is very dark...

Re:mp3 format? - 2008/02/19 04:10 I'm going to repeat myself but it would be nice if we could upload songs to our own websites and link those inside this site (instead of an upload but in the same window, y'know?) instead of trying to cram a few songs into 30MB.

Just to be a swell guy, I'm going to delete my demos here to take some stress off their storage and I'll link up everything in my blog.
