Re:Lost In The Mail? - 2007/03/07 00:16I'm a bit nervous, but I saved the receipt from when I mailed it which says the date, time, and the fact that it went to New Hampshire, so hopefully it will be ok...
But that sucks about your computer!!! Hoefully you'll be able to retreive it...

Re:Lost In The Mail? - 2007/03/07 01:22It only pisses me off because it was a brand new laptop. Basically, I did my RPM project on it and then it dies.

Re:Lost In The Mail? - 2007/03/07 01:58My first submission DID get lost in the mail. I'd sent it in on the first, and easily would've been the first received submission, had it arrived properly. I didn't get a chance to resend it until the 27th, and I'm sure they're now swamped with submissions so I have no idea if it worked this time or not.

Most of the time I'm like, "I'm sure they're checking them in as quickly as humanly possible while trying to take the time to actually listen to them so it may be weeks before they get to mine in that pile. I'm cool... Chillin'."
But then I'm like, "HOLY FUCKING CHRIST ON A STICK MY CD GOT LOST IN THE MAIL! THE LABEL STICKER CAME OFF!!! OH MY GOD!!! I need a drink."
But that's pretty quick and is more in my head than screaming at the top of my lungs... which would probably make me feel better... screaming, I mean... at the top of my lungs...

Re:Lost In The Mail? - 2007/03/07 20:13Well, mine was delivered and signed for on the 5th - I'm guessing the staff is just having a hard time wading through the piles of albums they're receiving...
'course, I could have saved a lot of money by not sending it Fed-Ex... ha!

Re:Lost In The Mail? - 2007/03/08 20:54Heh, when I sent it off, I didn't expect it to be the only copy!

Re:Lost In The Mail? - 2007/03/08 21:16I turned mine in by hand, and I'm getting nervous. Artists turning in CDs at the same time I was have already been recieved. Alas, not mine.
I've been told not to worry, until a few days from now. Which, seems even more ominous...

Re:Lost In The Mail? - 2007/03/08 22:25I sent mine in Feb 20, which is a Tuesday, and it took until March 2 to be acknowledged. And, based on the number of submissions, I'd say it's going to take some time from them to plow through the pile of CDs. While I was in the same boat, patience seems to be the order of the day.

Re:Lost In The Mail? - 2007/03/08 23:44Things tend to get bottle-necked at times at the NH-US border. I hope you filled out your customs declaration.
I'm just hoping I didn't apply the self-adhesive Memorex CD cover to the "shiny" side.

Re:Lost In The Mail? - 2007/03/09 00:55poingly - there should be a little hole on your laptops CD that you can stick a straightened paperclip into and it will release your CD. Or when turning on the laptop start hitting the CDs open button, it doesn't have to boot to get it out.
a little FYI

Re:Lost In The Mail? - 2007/03/09 07:08I've been helping out a little bit at the office, and there are boxes yet unopened, so I wouldn't worry overly much quite yet. There are over eight hundred that have been checked in so far, and more to come, with just a handful of people doing the work. Just think, real people, not machines! Hurrah! The downside being that of course it takes some time... They have to be checked in, then all of the information for each CD has to be put in a few different places, etc. etc..... And some bands haven't filled out their album information which makes it all take even more time. So help us help you and fill it out completely, pretty please, everyone? Thanks! And thanks to all of you that did it already.

Re:Lost In The Mail? - 2007/03/10 01:04To assist in your labors I give you this mental image:
Me Naked Dancing around in a tutu with raspberry jelly on my nipples and a mouth full of grapes.
Maybe you should just go ahead and mark mine as received and save us all a lot of grief.

Re:Lost In The Mail? - 2007/03/11 04:59I don't think that'll work. It exists on the harddrive not as a CD in the CD drive. Ha. It's okay though, they got it.

Re:Lost In The Mail? - 2007/03/11 06:34They still haven't received mine. I'm really starting to sweat. I'm down there with the oldest sent but not received. I even put extra postage on it!
You gotta wonder, if this is a test of the US Postal Service, what does it say?
And as long as I'm editing, I'd just like to throw in that there are only (and will only ever be) two exact copies of the cd I sent in. All the other copies I'm sending out are different. It would really suck in so many ways if it didn't get there.

Re:Lost In The Mail? - 2007/03/11 07:17I've learned from experience that it doesn't do any good to check every 15 minutes. Just thought I'd pass that on.

Re:Lost In The Mail? - 2007/03/11 11:33Well, suddenly I get to say because mine is now listed as received! *faints from relief* I figured they'd eventually get it, but at the same time, my confidence in the US mail is not all that high.
