I love how the plugin helps blend the sound, I've read a lot of posts online disdaining the use by "amateurs" of the software and saying it's no replacement for "professional" engineering. Still it's affordable and does seem to have a place...

Post edited by: Lightbox, at: 2008/08/24 00:43
Here the investment needed to get that extra 2-5% difference.
Speakers - 10,000.00 Clean Power Amps - 800.00 - 1500.00 Analog console - 2,000.00 Analog EQ / Compression - 2,500.00 - 5,000.00 Mastering software - 1500.00 Mastering computer - 4000.00 Professional CD burner - 1000.00 - 2500.00 Cabling - ????? Room Treatment (20' x 20') 40,000.00 ( cut rate )
I do think a professional, who has done it for a while and has the expensive equipment, can do a better job overall. But the only real valid question in my mind is, "How good is good enough?" If you are looking to rival that million dollar studio quality, than a $200 peice of software is not going to give you that. But the difference is not going to be night and day, it will be a matter of degrees. I'm more than OK with gains I have w /o paying for the pro.
