I might have to give it a try. I doubt that I will even come close to 50 songs, but if I can get 5-10 new songs and another 10 or so lyrics, then I would consider it a major success.
Of course, you could always take a different track. Discover a new riff -- write a short instrumental around it and call it a song. Find an interesting melodic idea -- OK that's a song, too.
let's say you discover 10 new riffs, 10 interesting melodies and then write 10 complete songs and have 20 or song "lyric fragments" created. Those riffs, melodies and song fragments might turn into great songs down the road. (And then you could record them for the RPM 2009!).
