Re:08 Disk # 4 - Tribal/Meditation/World - 2008/05/02 00:36 Anybody run across some good disk #4 material, be sure to post it.

We're flood in rock, pop, folk, but this one looks a bit barren. Hard to find too. But way worth it.

Re:08 Disk # 4 - Tribal/Meditation/World - 2008/05/02 03:03 Would this qualify under "World"?
Nice Brazilian jazz:

le jazz tropique - "Acaso"

And this has kind of a west African feel:
Doug Hayman - "Tropical Breeze"

Re:08 Disk # 4 - Tribal/Meditation/World - 2008/05/18 19:21 This one might be game, with an abbreviated ending. (It's about four minutes, and works best as a three minute song, IMHO.)

Vie Delaveris - Spirits Arise! Death Sleeps No More.

I think the reason why people may have a problem making nominations for this category is because it's such a small real estate. For instance, meditation music often has an electronic component - so it may be getting thrown into that category instead.

Re:08 Disk # 4 - Tribal/Meditation/World - 2008/05/19 05:07 One of our picks...Jay Durfey...from "The Score". Four great tracks (actually the whole cd is great!)

1. Pray Sallah

2. Xiabalba

3. Larkhill

4. The Charms of Calloway

Mick, we'll keep listening and see if we can find more for Disk #4.

Ya know...we all need to thank you for putting this together again this year! You did one hell of a job last year!

Re:08 Disk # 4 - Tribal/Meditation/World - 2008/05/21 08:55 Oh, cool, so it's still not too late to nominate? (Yeah, I'm a drag-ass, shut up.)

It's a damn shame that no one has nominated ACL's "Fog Over the Water". That song has had me by the throat since I first heard it. Maybe it's a bit *too* laid back for a lot of people to notice, but if def should be in this group.

Re:08 Disk # 4 - Tribal/Meditation/World - 2008/05/28 15:42 Thanx much for the nominations Kirk and Wendy. I was starting to think bad thoughts, figuring I had flown under the radar a second year now. I really wanted to be a part of it last year.

Much appreciated!

Re:08 Disk # 4 - Tribal/Meditation/World - 2008/05/30 21:21 Hey Mick,

Just listened to Bag of Street Cats - el cristo esta en la casa

What a great track...I would classify this track as world.

Thanks for turning me on to them, other wise I would have missed them!

Re:08 Disk # 4 - Tribal/Meditation/World - 2008/06/02 18:47 Moved from #5 - This is excellent material for here. I think it is all electronic except perhaps the vocals, but it's still great.

You know, it's quite a paradox. For a blank space, it sure contains a lot of letters..

It's kind of like that whole "tree falls in the forest" thing..
