Very Us Artists' demos here! - 2008/02/13 07:06 RPdeMo #1 by Gene 'Noizepunk' Pritsker

The first demo mix for a Very Us Artist piece has come rolling in.

find at our RPM profile:
Raga Profound Magic

Gene 'Noizepunk' Pritsker, composer extraordinaire, created this little ditty. He says "I used my kid's little toy guitar that had a very sitary like sound to me and did this piece."

It's crazy!

RPdeMo #2 by HAIRWOLF - 2008/02/13 08:34 We've been excited to hear this next one since HAIRWOLF's Dr. Hercules pitched the title to us. See, all of the core members of VUA can tell a d12 from a d20 at fifteen paces, and John's brother Jeff has even written a D&D novel for Wizards of the Coast!

Pretty geeky.

Anyway, find at our RPM profile:
Role-Playing Master

It's truly just a demo, but it ROCKS! Not only does HAIRWOLF kick some major metal ass, but they care enough to save the world...one anthem at a time.

RPdeMo #3 by Joshua Wentz - 2008/02/13 16:52 The man needs no introduction.

So let me just say that I look much cooler than you because I'm wearing a decidedly randomly selected color limited edition Sidedown t-shirt. However, if I was being chased by a monster or other baddy through the woods at night, I would not want to be wearing this shirt, as the intensity of its yellowness is such that I am now unable to see that particular frequency of yellow.

- John

Speaking of color, find at our RPM profile:
red+purple=magenta

And um...if you can explain the song, please share.

Re:RPdeMo #4 by VIVIAN CIRCLE - 2008/02/14 05:53 Something strange showed up on our doorstep. It was small and orphaned, tossed out and in need of a loving home. Pinned to the basket in which it rested was a note that read "Oompa-style rectrola-whine transmission from beyond."

We are nothing if not nurturing.

RPdeMo #5 by Jeremy Simmons - 2008/02/14 15:27 Ever a greeter of happy mornings and a habitual harvester of rainbows, Very Us Artist (and half of LEMMA with Joshua Wentz) Jeremy Simmons sends in this purty little bit of melancholia.

find at our RPM profile:
relax, poor mind

Jeremy writes, "Realizing in a flash how little time we have, I am taken on a roll back through my life and wonder, sometimes, how much is left."

Re:RPdeMo #5 by Jeremy Simmons - 2008/02/14 17:58 We just finished the Bass, Drums ang Guitar for "Role-Playing Master"... I'll have the finished version by Friday night or Saturday afternoon. Who thought rock could be so big?

Looks like the VUA comp is going pretty swell! Can't wait to hear everything!

Kudos to Joshua and Gene on their completed tunes! Good stuff!

RPdeMo #6 by Thee Crumb - 2008/02/15 23:38 Up next is Thee Crumb's disturbing-yet-stylin' offering to the impending Roughly Produced Music.

find at our RPM profile:
Rats Probed Melanie

Thee Crumb reports that this track was an attempt to recreate the title aurally—in which case, it's a complete failure (unless Melanie is actually enjoying the experience far more than she's letting on...)

RPdeMo #7 by Michelangelo - 2008/02/20 05:00 Put to the task of overturning his æons-old tradition of one-word music titles in order to meet the only criterion for our VUA album (being that it's what R.P.M. could feasibly stand for), Mick refused to compromise while still toeing the line. And so out of the æther he plucked a kick-ass triptych of tribal tonguetwistery.

Don't touch that flute. It scalds.

Re:RPdeMo #8 by Maddy and Nancy - 2008/02/27 17:32 I've had the opportunity to work with these gals often in the past (long before they went on to...relative fame!) and to hear them sing in person. And even then, I'm not sure there's more than one person in the room. It's quite surreal.
