The Calculus Affair Posts a song - 2008/02/24 03:07 As with last year, I'm down the absolute wire, so it's only now that I've got songs in any state that I can start posting them. Anyway...the first one is up.

My album this year is all songs about plays by Shakespeare, which is part of a larger project I've been working on which is one song for each of his plays. So hopefully after the RPM challenge I'll only have 28 (or 27, depending on which source you go by) left.

This first one goes with Henry VIII. It is...very...rough. Please do not ridicule me too much.

Rock On,

Re:The Calculus Affair Posts a song - 2008/02/24 03:36 ... Blistering blue barnacles, you have inspired me to make a John Webster album one day!
Nice lyrical phrasing.

Re:The Calculus Affair Posts a song - 2008/02/26 18:54 And another one up. Is it a completely un-ironic 80's power ballad about 12th Night? Why yes. Yes it is.

I second that. What hole you been hiding in? Hope you didn't spend too much time listening to those late delivered compilation disks.

Well, I did spend a little time doing that (insert smiley emoticon). Also, I tend to record base tracks for all my songs first, then add instrumentation and vocals last, so I don't have much to show for myself until here at the very end. Otherwise I've been rehearsing with the non-virtual Calculus Affair, which has its live debut the 7th of March. So we have been quiet, but there has been much activity in Calculus Affair land (where "Calculus Affair land" = "people's basements").

Re:The Calculus Affair Posts a song - 2008/02/27 03:07 Great tune. You will soon be the 29th least famous band in Bellingham. Can't wait to hear the rest of what you do.

Wouldn't that be a demotion? I think I should aspire to be the 31st least famous band from Bellingham.

Re:The Calculus Affair Posts a song - 2008/02/28 08:52 And here with things winding down, one more. Obligatory song about Hamlet.

Re:The Calculus Affair Posts a song - 2008/02/28 10:47 Right, obligatory song about Hamlet... THAT'S what I forgot to do!

Seriously though, I liked the one song I could play ("Bone and Matter"), but that's the only one I could see in the player. Did you yank the other ones?

Maybe next year I should do a John Donne album. Or maybe just form a John Donne tribute band...

(Note to self: shop for lute)
