The Tribe Gary Fox Alan Hall (In Visible Light) JesusFreke Monopoli Broken Promise Keeper Gumbo Stu Kelsey my daughter did two lead tracks half in English half and Aboriginal language.
These guys did multiple tracks to (some as many as 4) to cover tenor to alto. Needs some mixing and fading but overall pretty close to finished.

I'll blog the interesting engineering I did on the tribe tomorrow. Got to get some mandolin in before I sleep.

aside from being astonished, I agree with Gumbo Stu, that you should bring up your princess in the mix--she's outstanding and your fx and mixing are right on!
...I agree with you (this is each one of ours art ....so outside comments are just that) but just a tiny bit more.....and I did listen on pretty good speakers (not my monitors though---sometimes my lesser stereo lets me hear what come out on the intermet better

I've heard that three times now. The point is this little tiny voice cutting through the tribe with the message and if that's not happening then I 'll bump it when I remix. I'm also not liking the synth parts. I think they need a lot of work, but the tribe feels pretty good and that took a bit of work.
I like the adjective "powerful" that what I was shooting for.
Going way too slow this month, but maybe I can do a "zeno's album" kind of thing: 1/2 month for the first track, 1/4 month for the second track, 1/8 month for the third track, etc. I could have an infinite number of tracks by the end of February...
My first track was the result of some Perl scripting and Csounding that I'd been meaning to do for a long time. Since it's generated by code, it is permanently tweakable, but this version seems okay.

Dark Side of the Poon - Track 2 Remix - 2008/02/14 23:14While working on the album I do litening to the tracks in a group this is a redo of track 2,
The origional version had different vocals and instrumentation it really did not fit. This test mix did not fit right between Tracks 1 and 3 so I had to do a more radical remix for the final project so this mix.
So this mix is not part of the final product so I am putting it up. It is not a bad mix but it just is not the best one for where it fits on the album where it has to be a bit more jagged.

Re:Post your demo's here. - 2008/02/15 07:03Ha, finally got the next one done! Well, sorta done. It'll need tweaking eventually. It's called Decimated Data Stream, and it's loosely based on "numbers stations" and my own weird post-apocalyptic universe. You can check it out on my website, and even read the back story if you're bored.
And yes, it's all supposed to sound just like that.
Re:Post your demo's here. - 2008/02/15 15:23Yep, new song, my valentines day song, well, at least in the sense that's what I did on valentines day (well, night technically). Anyway, "Ghost Edit" is the name. It's an instumental, a little more experimental, called it that because the riffs at the beginning/main riffs are rearranged from "Chasing Ghosts," another song going on the album. Did this from scratch all last night. And also from a self-made sample of a Cakewalk metranome at work. I'm already hearing things I might change...notes that don't quite seem to sound right, etc. I could be wrong, and it's all ok, I'll have to spend a few days avoiding it to get a fresh take. On the other hand, this could be completely horrible. I think my internal editor either was fired or quit somewhere around 10. We'll see what his side of the story is when he gets back to my brain...lol.
However, if it is that bad, then somebody is going to have to make sure I can find a girl next year, so I'm doing something other than sitting here writing horrifying music on Valentine's Day. Of course, I don't think I've ever had a date on valentine's, so then again, why mess with a streak? Hmmm....never mind, nope, that's a streak that could end. Just fine.
Anyway, enough about that...got no sleep last night....then I'm going to go home and try to complete another few songs before the weekend is over. No rest for the wicked...er...weary. The song is on my profile, sample engine or myspace page. My myspace page now has 4 samples on it. I might get those other three over here eventually...
It goes out to all of us who struggle with lyrics.

Liked the idea, the construction was horrible though. Course the whole thing was done last night, and it eventually involves 3 guitar parts. Just need to get everything tighter, that's it, hopefully it and others will be up shortly.
