Indie folk/singer-songwriter of some kind. Love Neutral Milk Hotel (especially In the Aeroplane Over the Sea), 69 Love Songs, Erin McKeown's Distillation, The Soft Bulletin, Fox Confessor Brings the Flood, Let's Get Out Of This Country, Wild Like Children, I Am Shelby Lynne, some of Park Ave. and the Raincoats, Daisies of the Galaxy, and a few songs by Amy Rigby, especially Knapsack. But I'm open to many other kinds of music too. I did the challenge last year. Rather you don't go listen to it to be honest - I've learnt a lot in the last challenge and since. Much has changed. I'm (a bit) happier. Hopefully a little better of a songwriter. I'll have much less time this year (even with the extra day the RPM people have kindly arranged for us). Will also have less of a stockpile of ideas to work from. But I hope to find myself a better microphone and a keyboard for this year. Also have a tambourine. And I may try to learn to play the harmonica I have somehow. I still like sad songs that make you feel warm and hopeful. I like happy songs that make you feel warm and hopeful too.
(If I've made a connection to you, I've probably either listened to some of your music and really like it, or see something in your description that makes me think I would. Hi!) |
